Romance of the Three Kingdoms TV Series?
Has anyone seen Romance of the Three Kingdoms TV series on DVD? There is a 4 part set for $200 that is NTSC and I've read that the DVD's are not bad, considering it was filmed on video. But there is also a new PAL release for only $100 that is spread across 28 DVDs. Has anyone seen the PAL version and could you comment on the DVD?

I think there are actually two different PAL sets (maybe there is a third that you know of?). One from Mainland China, and one from Thailand.
The Hong Kong version (more expensive one) has much nicer packaging, but the quality is not enough to warrant the extra $, in my opinion.
The English subtitles are very much like older releases, and are not well done.
Great series though! Worth getting, but I would think saving $100 is the way to go, as the HK set is not that much better.

I am not sure, but I can let you know about the PQ when my set comes in. I ordered the PAL.

I've got the Thai PAL edition. I paid about $100 for it. Still haven't checked out the series but I did preview the first episode and I thought the PQ was decent for a TV series shot on video.
