Before this thread turns into a back and forth about censorship and b&w, I just want to say "Groovy news!"

Sweet! That's two weeks earlier than my prediction! I will definitely pick this up.

Hmmm....will be interesting going by QT's comments before regarding the DVD releases how this will be released exactly and how the apparent different editions will vary.

Nice. One week before the new Metroid comes out. Excellent indeed.

Yes, but lets not all forget that QT has said he will do another Super Duper Release (i.e. LOTR EE style). I will still be picking this up cause he said differant extras on the releases. What a great movie.

i am guessing that this will be the edited r rated 1 or 2 disc version (one disc would include some basic making ofs) while the 4 or 5 disc set for both volumes contains everything else.

I didn't mind the black & white at all, but I'd like to see the color version as well, so I'll be searching out an R2 version as soon as that pops up too.

So the end result is we are going to be paying $60 for the movie. Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol. 2 will run you $60. I'll pass, thanks.

I highly doubt anyone here will end up paying anywhere close to $60 for the two movies, but if I had to pay MSRP I gladly would, Shit, by the time all the versions are out I'll probably have spent around $100, and you know what? I wouldn't regret it. I don't hear too many people complaining about dropping a bundle a pop for each of the LOTR sets. Anyway, you can just wait for the joined set that will probably pop up in the summer.

$60 is way to much to charge for one movie. And people complain about Criterion's pricing?

Well, retail price is just that I think most of us recognize that that's the absolute MOST we will end up paying for the disc.

Me, I'll buy whatever they put out, including a R2 release if necessary.

It's two movies. See:
Kill Bill Vol. 1 - *one*
Kill Bill Vol. 2 - *two*

*two movies*
(two is the number after one, and before three)

to the extraneous, out of the blue Criterion mention. Now let's throw in a complaint about how expensive Japanese R2 DVDs are as well...

15-16 on release day, so about 35 for both movies. Hell, the Two Towers Gift Set is 60. I think that's crazy

I must've missed the part where they're holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy this or any DVD....

even though I LOVED the movie, I think I will wait until both films come out in some super duper deluxe combo set. I want both films at the same time.

Same thinking as I did not buy Matrix Reloaded...it sucked IMO so I rather wait until all 3 matrix's come out together in one ultimate boxed set.....thats just me...I loved Matrix and Revolutions and have the animatrix...waiting is sometimes better.
