My Motion Picture Debut in the movie ELF

Sweetness. I'm in the movie Elf. When Will Ferrell comes to NYC, he's crossin' the street in the Flat Iron District (Roughly 23rd Street and Broadway/5th Ave) and he does some type of spinning jump. You can see me crossing the street East to West on my razor scooter, wearin' a blue North Face Jacket and glasses(you can actually see the red Summit Series Patch on my right arm). I turn to him and the camera (my right) and give him some type of yet another wierdo in NYC look.

It's at most a 2 second scene and it's only Will Ferrell and myself in the scene. Livin' in NYC, I always see movies bein' filmed, but actually bein' in one is pretty dope.

I think that, I somehow rolled onto their set durin' their filmin' and since I was on a razor scooter that they couldn't stop me in time so I probably messed up their shot. Someone on their set probably thought that it was actually classic footage since you don't usually see an Asian kid scootin' across the street and givin' this look of shock at a 6'3" man weain' an elf suit. Hek, they probably thought that I was a Japanese tourist or something.

The strange thing is that I have absolutely no recollection of this happening. The only thing that I do know is that it was filmed sometime during the 2002 Holiday season (after Black Friday to Christmas). I was actually layed off on 11/18/02 for a few weeks and since I didn't have a metro card anymore to save money I used my razor scooter to get around if it wasn't a completely insane distance. I was probably goin' from the Blockbuster Video on 3rd Ave and 26th Street, which at the time they priced their previously viewed DVDs much cheaper than other stores, to the Best Buy on 6th Ave and 23rd Street. This was only a few months after my DVD addiction started so even though I was layed off I still needed to feed my DVD addiction.

Well I guess this is one pretty good thing that came out of being layed off.

Puhhaha, let's hope that the DVD has an extended scene of when Will Ferrell first gets to NYC.

Neat. Tell them you either want:

1) residuals

or

2) participation in the DVD audio commentary

You say you have no recollection of this happening. So what, you were sitting in the theater and just happened to notice yourself in the movie? That must have been pretty surreal. Or did someone you know recognize you?

A ton of my friends told me about it. My first friend who told me about it said that when he saw me he got up and screamed "HOLY SH$T" and everyone looked at him like he was a retard. He asks me "Hey were you in the movie Elf?" I say "No, I don't think so." He goes "cuz I saw you in the movie crossing the street." He goes "you were wearin' your blue North Face jacket and glasses and were on roller blades or a scooter or something." Then throughout the weekend, a lot of my friends told me about seeing me in it. I went Monday night to see it and sure enough it was me in the movie.

That was you?

If your face is recognizable I believe they need to get a release from you to use your likeness. Maybe you can get a meal on Favareau's Diner for Five show out of it. .

Frankly, I could care less what you think. What I stated was TRUTH. I had no idea that the picture was bein' shot. Hek, I don't even remember most of that stuff. All I remember is what I saw on the movie screen. This happened almost one year ago to the date. I pieced together the Blockbuster to Best Buy scenario cuz I did that several times durin' the holiday season (that Blockbuster Video no longer has good pre-viewed DVD prices so I don't go there).

About Will Ferrell. Remember that it was December 2002 and Old School didn't come out yet so he wasn't big time yet. All he had done was a wack movie in The Night At the Roxbury and his stint on SNL. Since I'm not a big SNL fan, I couldn't point him out in a crowd newhere.

If you live in NYC, you would know that movies are shot here all the time. I live near Washington Square Park and there's something bein' filmed near there at least once a month. Matter of fact, I can count at least 10 times that a movie crew has been in front of my apt and I've lived there for 6 years now. I don't know where you live, but unless it's NYC, or possibly Hollywood, I'm sure you can't fathom the amount of crap bein' filmed here all the time. In NYC, you see a lot bigger celebrities than Will Ferrell in his pre-Old School days (Some that I've seen are Puff Daddy drivin' down the street in his baby blue bentley, Mike Tyson in front of the Negrill Restaurant prior to him gettin' knocked out by Lennox Lewis, Jay-Z and Spike Lee in his 40 By 40 Club, Bill Clinton on 5th Ave and 52nd Street (I actually shook his hand), some members of The Wu-Tang clan drivin' around his SUV, Elijah Wood in the record store across the street from me, Christy Turlington in the school that I went to, the guy in the "Dude, you're gettin' a Dell" commercials in the school that I went to, Ricki Lake on the street, Sarah Jessica Parker with Matthew Broderick when she was pregnant). The list goes on and on.

I just wanted to share an interestin' experience that I had and I get haters like you. You gotta love the Internet.

Apperently no, since you wrote a whole damn book about it.

Haters like me? How about you step back from a different position, you can't tell me this doesn't sound like a made up story.

Congrats Dabomb

I saw the movie for a second time last night with my sisters. The scene more clearly is Will Ferrell hopping across the street west to east like a rabbit. Then he stops and turns around and hops the other way. That's when you can see me scooting across the screen for about 2 seconds.

To those who don't believe me, I taped a 12 second clip where that happens in the movie (yes it's illegal, but I'm not sellin' it nor distributin' it).

And to Wooderson, as others have said, why would I lie about bein' in a movie for 2 seconds?

You should have yelled something and you maybe would have a case for not getting payed for having a speaking part.

They'd just trash the take and have him escorted off set. I've actually seen it happen.

I've seen weirder s*** than that in NYC.

OH and congrats d, I'll be sure to ask you for an autography if I get that dvd.

Plus I know something like this happens in the city almost always, if he would've said he was in a porn flick then that's a whole nother story.
