future (?) Pink Floyd SACD releases??
With the much hyped Hybrid SACD release of "Darkside of the Moon" has there been any rumours if any more of Pink Floyd's back catalog of albums might get the multi-channel SACD treatment for 2004?

well, according to musictap.net
there is the slight chance 5.1 SACD versions of "Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" might become a reality after all..
!!!! (my fingers are crossed)

It has been relayed to me by a very reliable source that James Guthrie is now in possession of Pink Floyd analogue masters for Wish You Were Here and Animals. We're talking 5.1 hi-rez mixes for SA-CD here folks. Excited?

The full surround mixing of the 1975 album Wish You Were Here is ongoing. Doing any work like this takes time to ensure it is right, and provides the best possible audio experience, but PFM confirm that we are probably looking at the end of this year for a release of the album in hybrid CD/SACD (Super Audio CD) format.
With James Guthrie at the controls, the quality of this should be very high, and worth waiting for - and the feedback we have had for his work on Dark Side Of The Moon has been uniformly positive.
As and when we have more information on both of these, we will of course let you know... and our thanks to PFM for the update!
