It was either that or 3 Fast 3 Furious samples.

I hate audible ads. I generally skip Zap2it now, since just about every page you click on has some kind of promo coming up with very loud volume (lately it was "SKin", but I guess it won't be there anymore...before that, it was the movie "Mystic River").

This is a small run ad for the lord of the rings. You shouldn't see it any more frequently than 1x per 24 hours. There should be a STOP button on the ad... and we're not making this ad type a regular thing here, it was part of this campaign

I use Pheonix, and the banner completely locks up my browser for like 2 minutes while it loads. Annoying, to say the least.

I remember seeing a Texas Chainsaw Massacre banner ad on the IMDB page. Complete with sound, lol. The first time I ran over that, I thought someone was talking to me from across the room

I'm also using Phoenix and while it doesn't lock up my browser the stop button doesn't seem to work.

Well, of course you want to see more of stuff like that... you're the reason we have this ad in the first place.

Not to be a dick, but isn't that you're answer for every annoying ad? So can we gather that DVDTalk's approach to ads is to avoid invasive ones when they're not part of campaigns, but when they are bundled in bigger deals (as they often are) you're going to go with them?

Worst. Ad. Ever.

Actually, I think the FearDotCom one was worse. But this one sucks too.

Thanks for the custom title

Some of the ads on ESPN.com are REALLY annoying.

I don't mind the LOTR ad. I think I"ve seen it once. (It is pretty well done) It freaked me out because I wasn't expecting sound, but if it helps pay for the site, not a big deal.

Though the Fear.com ad got to me, but that is water under the bridge.

Why can't you have ads where the default is sound off and you can turn it on if you so desire?

It is kind of annoying- this particular ad makes you scroll up to it and click the speaker icon to turn it off every time.

Of course they're counting on this, that you'ld click the ad wrong and go through to their page. Ads like this do not engender good feelings from the consumer. I realize they're supposed to be annoying to get your attention, too bad they can't find a more unobtrusive way to sell their product.
