Matrix Revolutions Soundtrack - Where's the Music!?!
I was pretty shocked to see that the Matrix Revolutions soundtrack has maybe 1 actual SONG on it. Where Matrix and Reloaded were packed with Alternative music, this final chapter is almost completely devoid of any hard rock/alternative music.
Isn't it strange that after 2 albums packed with origianal traks they completely abandoned the musical aspect of the matrix franchise!?!

yeah, i noticed that while looking at the CD yesterday. i don't recall, but it must be full of 1:00 tracks containing bits and pieces that may have been used in fight scenes?

strange? yes.
am I thankful? HELL YES.
I still say the Animatrix soundtrack is the best of all the soundtracks..
[compared only to the alternative/nu metal tracks, not Davis' score..]

I hate it when bands are incorporated into movie soundtracks because if they are bands I can't stand, it'll destroy the movie for me (in most cases).
Example : SHREK w/Smash Mouth
Sometimes I won't even watch a movie if an annoying band is in the trailer (and isn't in the movie).
Example : Starship Troopers w/that annyoing "Woo hoo" song by Blur.
The Matrix movie IMHO should only have score music or instrumental techno (for the fight scenes) and for the most part they do, except the first movie which had the bands put in a realistic way i.e. coming out of Neos headphones, playing at the club, etc. Other than that, they pop up in the end credits.
I've only seen Matrix : Reloaded once and can only remember bands being played during the end credits and not within the movie itself. Looks like Revolutions is following suit.

I agree that the instrumental techno for the fight scenes was good, and the way the first one used real music in things like the club scenes was good. The instrumental score for the first one was good too. Haven't checked into music from Revolutions yet

For those of you that like the instrumental techno, I strongly recommend Rob Dougan. He did a couple of tracks on the Reloaded soundtrach (and I think maybe a couple more on the Revolutions one), but he also has a whole CD out of just his stuff and I LOVE it. It's got some actual songs and some instrumental only, and both are fantastic.

Just saw Revolutions today, great movie and accompanying music, but what was funny was that they showed the trailers for SHREK 2 and THE PUNISHER before it and both had really lousy trailer music. SHREK, I guess, didn't learn about using Smash Mouth the first time, they had to go ahead and reuse it again as if it was the hook to bring the audiences back to the theatres to see it (isn't the talent of Mike Myers enough?) and for THE PUNISHER... who isn't tired of hearing that lame Bodies Hit The Floor song already? Aren't the choking the Used CD bin enough? I'll still see THE PUNISHER anyway, it was my favorite comic as a kid, I hope they don't mess it up too badly.
