Coldplay Live 2003 DVD/CD
Just picked this up this morning. I have it on in the background.
The DVD has a little known extra - a DTS track! I did not know that this was the case, nor did I see it mentioned anywhere.
The DVD is also widescreen!
Video and audio quality are awesome thus far. The musical performances are as expected from a band of this caliber. I went to two of the concerts during this tour and this DVD captures the excitement and energy from the tour.
A must for fans and non-fans alike!
I'll add more to this post after I finish the concert.

This really is a great dvd/cd set. I went and saw the dvd concert played at a movie theater in san diego last night and it was almost as good as seeing them in person, which I did the last time they came around here.
The 40 minute documentary is excellent as well, and it gives you a peek into the lives of these guys when they're out on the road. There are also quite a few funny moments in it .

Just to warn people. This 2 disc set comes in a dvd keep case or cd jewel case. I made the mistake of picking up the cd jewel case version at Wal-mart for 13.88 (appears to be regular price) and made my way over to best buy where they had both the dvd keep case and the cd jewel case for 14.99 (regular 19.99). The dvd keep case looks a whole lot better than the cd jewel case. I just finished watching the entire dvd and I must say it was great. I would recommend this set to any coldplay fan.

I was watching a little bit of the DVD the other day, and I was really annoyed on how the concert is edited, it's like the editor needs ridalin (sp). oi! the whole rhythm of shots is eye-assaulting - some of these newer 'music' directors need a refresher course and watch Jonathan Demme's "Stop Making Sense" on how to film a concert and not give it's viewers a brain seizure.

I actually prefer the CD case for sets like this. In my anal retentiveness, I consider it a live CD with a bonus DVD, even though the DVD has more material than the CD. So the CD case version can be stored on my CD racks, where the DVD case wouldn't fit there.
Yes, I know, I'm a dork.

Actually I think I will keep the CD in the jewel case, in the rack with all my other audio CDs. Then I'll grab an empty DVD case and print out a copy of the DVD cover, put it in the front of the case, and stick the DVD in there near my TV with all my other DVDs.... phew!

There was a short clip from the DVD on the MTV Europe Music Awards that I saw this morning. By the way, Coldplay won Best Group and said we would see them again in a few years. Hoping it's not that long, but there ya go.
I am definitely adding this to my Christmas list. Sounds fantastic!
