Before I go tomorrow, do they still have these in the game section? Are they easy to spot etc....??? Thanks in advance, DJ

As you can tell...I do not get to BB much anymore.

Yes.

They are in either the old green cases or the new black ones.

I've also seen them, at some locations, in a gift card display near the front of the store.

I've seen them in almost every part of the store sans appliances.

I found a stack of them inside each microwave oven at the Reston BB.

Not really, but they really are almost everywhere in some stores.

There are also coupons of the same value in Netflix cases, along with coupons for PC software, CDs, DVDs, and other stuff.

First off....there are not simply $5.00 off coupons for people to grab and use. These appear to be contained within gift cards to which you can charge any amount so if I buy the gift card and have them put one penny on it.....then I can get the $5.00 off $19.99 coupon out and return to use it. The guys at my BB were totally clueless or completely stupid. Unless my thought process is wrong on this, I think I have figured it out for myself. Have not been in a BB store in quite sometime. The guys in the game dept and the guy at the customer service desk were clueless when I stated the above. Please let me know if I am the clueless one....DJ

The coupons aren't free. You have to buy a gift card. I always put $5 on mine.

I buy one or two everytime I'm in there buying something other than games. That way, when I got to buy a game, I have a $5 coupon and a $5 gift card, knocking $10 of the price at the time of purchase.

I think I will start doing that also when I have a few extra dollars here and there. The coupons on the back of the current gift cards expire at the end of the year so beware of the time problem. I did have BB price match CC's $19.99 price for Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell. Now once I pick up an Xbox.....I can play the games.

Djones, a couple of points you may not know.

There are newer Gamer's Gift Cards that don't expire until 12/31/04.

CC accepts BB coupons, so you could get those games for $14.99.

I wasn't in the mood yesterday and just bought the games but in the future I will be sure to take advantage of the gift cards/coupons. I feel like I received a great deal as it was being these games were only $20.00. I have not paid more than $20.00 for a game since RE0. My patience is paying off....not sure I will be able to wait for the new Medal of Honor game to drop in price.

Yep, and these are the ones in the black cases, and the gift card has the hands holding a GC controller.

The ones that expire this year are in the green cases, don't remember what the gift card picture is.

My BB only had the green cases....guess they better update their inventory or something. One of the reasons I stopped going to my local BB was their game selection....and never having titles in stock.

Not all Circuity Cities accept Best Buy coupons. The ones in NYC don't, for example. This is a YMMV situation. Even if it is corporate policy to accept them, if the clerk/manager doesn't know about it, s/he won't give it to you. This has been my experience.

Always ask for a manager at CC, the clerks never know anything and usually aren't aware of the coupon matching.

It is still a YMMV situation with managers, but you at least have better odds.
