Malata Multi-Region DVD Players!

I've had my Malata DVP 520 region free player for a while now and I'm very happy with it. However I'm looking to buy a new player for the bedroom and was wondering a few things.

1. Should I just buy another Malata DVP 520?

2. I quite like the design of the Malata DVP 558. It's 70 bucks cheaper. Should I go for this instead?

3. What are the differences between the 520 and the 558?

4. Can the 558 play all regions?

Thanks I appreciate any info you guys can provide.

You can find all of your answers here:

www.hkflix.com

This site is great to deal with. I hope to get either the model you're interested in or a JVC from this site when my work situation improves.

It looks like there is no x / y scaling on the newer model.

Nevermind just checked out the thread on the Phillips 727 and I've opted for that.

Thanks anyway

Speedy just got back from Target with a Phillips 727 (reading that thread made me want to buy one right then) I got it for 85 bucks and it works like a charm. Tested a Spider-Man R1 seems perfect and I also had a look at all of my R2 PAL DVD's (I only got 5) They all seem perfect, no wobbley lines like on the DVP 520.

Highly recommended! Speedy I suggest you buy this instead of Malata.

I'll second that! Got one this past week (from Amazon, $70.84) and have thrown Region 2 (Pal), Region 3, Region 4 (Pal) its way with perfect playback. Also like the incredibly easy one-time remote entry to go region-free.
