Not sure about the movie you are referring to, but some years ago, there were films made in Turkey that featured very blatant imitations of Spider-man, Captain America, Batman, etc. (Turkey's copyright laws were almost non-existant). Maybe its one of these films you read about? (Spider-man was definitely in at least one of them).

Sorry, I meant to follow up my first answer. I was right, it is a 1973 Turkish film and its titled 3 Dev Adam (Three Mighty Men). It is an "unofficial" Santo film (especially considering Santo films are usually Mexican) and in this film, he teams up with Captain America to fight Spider-man (which is why this film has an unofficial English title of "Captain America and Santo vs Spiderman"). Unsubtitled "grey market" videos and VCDs of this film are floating around, but don't count on finding a licenced DVD of it, given the obscurity of Turkish films, and copyright issues.
You can read about the film here: http://www.wam.umd.edu/~dwilt/devadam.htm

PS Someone might have beaten me to the answer earlier, but you have to admit that the thread title is a tad cryptic.

I saw that article (movies "The Man" doesn't want you to see) and this movie caught my eye as well. It sounds just too nutty to be true. Gotta find a copy...

Oh, you haven't missed much (based on flipping through it at the newstand regularly). However, being a Mego collector, "Twisted Mego Theater" usually gave me a chuckle.

Well, that would be what I enjoyed the most

I just became too jaded with Hasbro, and the fact you couldn't buy half the figures in Canada, since they never shipped up here. Plus all the exclusives that were hard to find in the US, let alone in Canada. BAck then, MacFarlane toys were brittle peices of crap which fell apart if you took them out of the package, so I really had no reason to keep collecting.

Aren't MacFarlane toys still brittle pieces of crap?
I know, all those exclusives, speculators, etc. completely ruined the hobby (and yes, living in Canada definitely doesn't help matters). The only new toys I still buy are the Sideshow 12" Universal Monster figures, I can't resist them.

No, they aren't anymore. Predator has fallen off my computer monitor , four feet to the floor a few times now, and there's not a scratch on him. I wish I could say the same for my MAC Buffy figures...

Do you mean info on if 3 DEV ADAM is available on DVD? Info on the film itself (and others like it)? I don't know if it ever surfaced on DVD, but I can check around, I wouldn't mind seeing it myself.

A Greek company called Onar Films has recently released another Turkish superhero film on DVD, KILLINK IN ISTANBUL. (the title character is a rip off of an Italian superhero, and the film also has an unauthorized appearance by "Superman"). Anyway, the disc also includes trailers for other Turkish films, including... 3 DEV ADAM. So, maybe Onar will be releasing that one soon as well. Cool!

KILLINK IN ISTANBUL can be ordered from Xploited (PAL format, but Region 0 and includes English subs):

No 3 DEV ADAM yet, but Onar will be releasing another KILLINK DVD in December, this time a double feature with KILINK VS SUPERMAN (Kilink Ucan Adma Karsi) and KILINK STRIP AND KILL (Kilink Soy Ve Oldur). As usual for older Turkish films, the negatives are lost, and this release relies on old video masters, but its better than nothing. I'm sure that the neg for 3 DEV ADAM is long gone too, but hopefully Onar can find a video master that is good enough for a DVD release.

KILINK Double feature DVD can be preordered here (PAL/Region 0):

Turkish Superman was pretty good too, lol.

talked to a guy at Onar, and he said an NTSC pressing was pretty slim due to poor sales of the pal version. They only produced around 1000 copies6 (all numbered) I was a bit shocked by that. Anyhow you can see more clips on their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/onarfilms

Can't you just watch it (and make your own screenshots) on a PC. Some DVD authoring tools even let you convert from PAL to NTSC (although you'll lose the original menus).

yah^ and thats what the guy recommended to me as well....it was kind of awesome to hear the people at the company tell me to rip their dvd...

i wish it would have sold better, as its been a movie that eluded me for so long...curiosity on what it was/is. Only clips i had ever seen didn't even have subs...
