I saw Jurassic Park 4 times when it came out. I don't know why. I was just amazed I suppose. What movie have you seen multiple times in a theater the most and why, geek?

I saw Jay & Silent Bob strike back like 8 times.. even though the first time I clearly thought, "This is his worst movie.. but fun.", Why? Well a lot of the times were me taking other people or going with other people, it was a fu nmovie to watch in groups.
I saw Kill Bill v1 three times in three days. Why? Cause it kicked ASS.

Aliens. At least 30 times.
Game over, man.
As for why, it was one of the few times that it was a fun movie each time I saw it, not to mention that friend's worked at the theater so seeing it for free was a big plus.
I mean that year, that was more fun than Top Gun and I remembered more lines than Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I saw FOTR about five times and Fight Club six or seven times. I don't normally go to see a movie more than once, but Fight Club was just one of those things that I kept finding opportunities to go, and FOTR was an amazing film that is really best seen on a large scale.

I think I saw Pulp Fiction 10 or 11 times at the theater between 94-95 when it first came out, which seems like alot as I very rarely catch a movie even twice at the show.

I saw Pulp Fiction 5 times. I usually never see a movie more than once in the theaters. Pulp Fiction was unlike any movie I ever experienced. I was never really into to movies very seriously until I saw Pulp Fiction. It changed my perception of movies.

I must have seen the Lion King 11x in the theater. Although I think I only paid for it 3x. I did a lot of theater hopping in those days. It is still my favorite of the recent non-Pixar Disney films. There still is something amazing about watching that stampede.
Saw Star Wars: Episode One 10x in 10 different theaters. Part of that was friendly competition with a co-worker. I think he ended up seeing it 17x or so. I had to cry uncle after a while. It got painful. I dunno, maybe I thought it would be a better film if I saw it at different places. Never happened.
Beyond that would be A New Hope/Empire Strikes Back/Return of the Jedi (9 times), Pulp Fiction (5 times), and Terminator 2 (4 times).
Nice thread!

I've seen Fellini Satyricon and Paris, Texas each close to ten times in a theater. The reason is simple - I like both movies quite a bit, and both were playing during a time when I'd just moved to a new city and didn't know many people...

I saw Beauty and the Beast (1991) over 10 times in theaters. Including once in German. I've never seen it on VHS, DVD, or any other medium except on film (and I own the DVD!)

The most times I've ever seen a movie in the theatres is 3, which was for the Star Wars SE back in January of '97. I will tie that in December when I see FOTR on Trilogy Tuesday. I try to avoid going to the movies as often as I can because I just don't have good experiences when I go, and it usually dampens my memory of the film.

Out of all the great movies in the world mine would be... The Bourne Identity.
I saw it 5 times in theaters. It was a good movie but not 5 times good, it was just what I went 5 times with 5 different groups of friends to the movies and they all chose the same damn movie, even months after I had seen it.
The only other movie I can think of that I saw multiple times was the Matrix which I saw three times. I just don't go to the movies multiple times for the same movie

I saw "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country" 10 times in the theater when it came out (twice on opening day). My theory was that this was the last time I would see the original crew on the big screen, and I wanted to cherish that chance.
I thought I would never beat that record (the previous was 6 times for Terminator 2), but I did just a few years later when I saw Harrison Ford's "The Fugitive" 11 times.
Since then, I've gotten a life and rarely go to the movies more than once...I've only seen one film more than once this year, and that was "Terminator 3" (2 times).

Rocky Horror: about 60 times
Star Wars: Well over 300 times (not counting the special edition)
Empire and Jedi: about 200 times a piece
Jaws: at least 20 times
Ghostbusters: 25 times minimum
Raiders of the Lost Ark: 250 times before I stopped counting.
Now, of course keep in mind that this was WELL before the widespread use of the VCR, when movies were released several times and ran in the theaters for months and months and months. Now and days, I dont see movies over and over again. I think the most I saw Phantom Menace in the theater was 10 or so times.

Yeah, I'm surprised no one had mentioned Rocky until you, El-Kabong. I'm not sure how many times I've seen it in the theater, but way more than 10 times. 50 might be a closer bet, though I haven't been in five years or so.

I saw Forrest Gump twice. First time with a group of friends, second time on a date.
I saw Jurassic Park: The Lost World twice. First time with my girlfriend and some other friends, second time with another girl.
I saw Star Wars: The Phantom Menace twice. First time with friends, second time with my girlfriend.
I think those are the only movies I've seen in the theater more than once. Obviously, it's not a common occurrence for me. Note that I went to those movies because the person I went with the second time wanted to watch the movie.
I think I may watch Kill Bill again in the theater. That movie was awesome.

Back around 1980 or so my mother had to take a second job at a movie theater. My sister and I would go to work with her. I remember watching Smokey and the Bandit II and Airplane! neary every day for as long as they were in the theater. That doesn't really count as I wasn't paying to see them.
I can't think of a single movie I've paid to see more than twice.
