Search thread - Question for admin

Hi static,

It is OK to close a duplicate thread. But it would be courteous to give a link to where the original thread is.

Please don't ask me to use the "search" button. The reason why I post this is because the search button is faulty.

The search function could be more functional, but it's not completely useless. Did you try searching for "search" in this forum, titles only, for any date?

If a thread or topic is hard to find, then I try to provide links. But sometimes it's pretty self-explanatory, IMO.

One thing I think is if someone reports a thread as redundant and then doesn't post the original thread in their reporting of the redundant thread, the mod/admin has to either dig for it or not.

So if anyone reports a thread as redundant, please provide us with the original link, it makes life a lot easier.

There's not a single original thread. There are at least a dozen of them. Some of the "search sucks" threads of days past:

Your complaint was that you couldn't search for three-letter words. "Search" has more than three letters. Searching for "search" definitely works; that's how I got the URLs above.
