MPAA "green screen" missing before previews?
I was at a Cinemark last night to see Intolerable Cruelty. I noticed that there were none of the MPAA's green screens (that says "The following preview has been approved for...") before each trailer played--in fact, there was nothing to distinguish the end of the pre-movie commercials and the beginning of the actual movie previews. The fact that the commercials and movie trailers were just sort of lumped together was probably what concerned me the most.
I haven't been to the movies in a few months, is this commonplace now anywhere else? Is this a Cinemark idea, or just a local anomaly? Just wondering.

I know Cinemark edits out the green screens on all their trailers, as do some other chains. One of the many reasons I prefer going to the Edwards/Regal theaters. They leave the entire preview intact.

well, it's not like the "green screen" is part of the artistic vision or intention of the preview... here in Canada they always chop the green screen off the trailers...I couldn't care less.

it's mainly because they put the trailers in that meet the rating of the film showing. no need to warn people of the rating of the trailer when the film already has the rating.
