Commercial questions
Two quick questions about commercials and I hope someone has the right (correct) answers.
In that Sprint commercial, is that goofy dopey guy really suppossed to be her boyfriend, or is that girl just messing with her? This is the one where the guy has ketchup and mustard on his face and spills most off his sandwich on the counter.
The second is a show add, where a punk kid says he can outrun everybody or everything. Is he just trying to be funny?

As far as the Sprint commerical, the girl says , I just found your new boyfriend. Plus if he was already her friend's boyfriend they'd probably sitting together.

Yeah, but she tells the Mulder lookalike that she does love him, to which he says something like whatever makes you happy. Still, it's hard to tell if they are indeed bf/gf.

This marks the moment in dvdtalk history that there is nothing more on television to talk about.
I, for one, welcome our new wave of Sprint Ad thread Overlords.

About the Sprint commercial:
Well, if the photo-sender was doing that to send a picture of this klutz to her friend just to be doing, that sounds way to grade-school. Look, look, this guy? He's your boyyyyyyfriend! And when he looked back at her, he seemed to recognize her.
What about the "Dip says hi" one? Is their son really named Dip? Is it a nickname? Do they set up their son to taunt him?
Not as good as "Monkey with a cold", but then what is? Maybe 200 dachsund.

I don't get that Dip one either. Hi wife, isn't it funny when I insult our son? No wonder we end up with school shootings.
I think, as a genre, telecommunications commercials, including Sprint, 1800-CALLATT/COLLECT, etc, are the most mindnumbingly stupid commercials I have ever seen. Car dealership commercials come next, although they're usually just more obnoxious. A close third, fitting the 'read the fine print' category, are the prescription medication commercials: 'Please try BluePill for your heartburn. Side effects include nausea, diarrhea, loss of hearing, impotence, insomnia, hair loss, possible heart attack, and feeling stupid that you believed this commercial and its paid actors gamboling through spring forests.' No thanks, I'll stick with heartburn.

Well about the funniest commercial and one that I say I would do if that ever happened to me is the beer ad. The one in which that goofball puts his address in the bottle and the stranded guy always gets them. That one cracks me up.
