Are Japan Superbits NTSC or PAL?

My friend and I have been looking at buying a region free player and some Japan Superbits. What sold us was the Jurassic Park disc. I was under the assumption that all Japan DVD's are Ntsc. I was hoping on getting a progressive picture from a region free progressive dvd player and NTSC region 2 DVD.

My buddy just told me he found out that all the Japan superbits are PAL. Im confused now, can anyone clear this up?

All the reviews I've read of Japanese Superbits say they're NTSC. That includes Jurassic Park.

And as far as any Japanese discs all are NTSC.

I personally have never heard of or seen a PAL R2 Japan DVD. It is a safe bet that they are NTSC

I can verify (by having Jurassic Park Superbit and many others) that they are indeed NTSC. As are all other DVDs that I've seen and the TV system here.
So don't worry and enjoy some kickin' bass and picture.

Yep, all Japan DVDs, LDs and VHS are and always have been NTSC. The whole Japan R2 vs Europe R2 issue seems to confuse some people.

Japan does not sell any TV with PAL in Japan. So I there is only NTSC versions in Japan.Unless you buy them at the Duty free shops. All DVD's for Japan market are in NTSC format.
