slowly, with power on, and drawer open, hit 9 9 9 9 then hit 0. Should play all.

In the event the 0 won't work (just learned that tip) -- I just do the 9 9 9 9 and then enter the region I will be playing, such as 2 or 3 or (in the event you have any) 1!

Great machine. I may pick up a second, myself. I am a true believer.

Hi Jblackie,

I got the 727 today at GoodGuys ($79.99 plus tax), hacked it successfully with the code. Wow, it plays whatever DVDs I throw into it! Thanks again for giving me the hack code.

No problem. And, in response to Andy_G's comment that it's "funny, the 0 works" for him, please note I never said it doesn't, only that it was news to me and I hadn't tried it as of just then.

I can now verify that. It works.

The "0" setting may not work on RCE discs. In that case you would have to set it to that disc's particular region. Though, like the Cyberhome, it may play everything thrown at it in "0". There maybe the rare disc that needs to be set in its correct region.

That is probably what was being referred to when it was said "if 0 doesn't work".

is this a 1 time only hack or do you have to this every time you power it up? I want to get one of these for my parents and they wouldn't be to keen on changing settings every time they use the player.

Hi Chris,

I only hacked my 727 once after I brought it home, and from then on it never required another hack. Hope this helps.
