Sophie Marceau's L'ETUDIANTE / Fanfan....info?

Both Fanfan and L'etudiante came out today in France released by Gaumont/Columbia....if anyone got those will you please let me know if they came up with subs?

I have not seen any retailers listing English subs but that does not mean there are none. If you could help out please let me know......

dvdfr.....have been wrong in 99% of the cases with the recent French releases. (note: Peau D'ange, 17 fois Cécile Cassard, etc., all have English subs yet the site indicates no sub options).

"Marquise" with Sophie has been released recently on anamorphic DVD in Australia with English subs. I hope that Ausies will release more Sophie's DVDs.

I could just see this one coming....but I was hoping that DVDFR was...perhaps....wrong.....as they were with Peau D'ange and some other recent films......O, well........

...and why is it that the British do not wish to release any of the Marceau films (other than her Hollywood "attempts").....just cant figure this one out......

one good reason could be that madamoiselle Marceau plays movies that stink though I agree with an italian movie critic who once wrote something like the following "we have to be grateful to Zulawski who continues to undress his beautiful wife"

well.....that is your own opinion....and I respect that.

Perhaps, you could point out an actress from your country-Italy- that has consistently made good films without being "undressed"...being close to Mrs.Marceau's age.

...and yes...I do have a thing ("weakness"..??) about Sophie....though I have to admit that Isabelle Adjani is my all time favorite. .....(but I grew up with La Boum so....I guess my taste is rather poor, ha ha ha).

everybody has his own weakness my dear pro-bassonist, I grew up with the movies of Bud Spencer and Terence Hill and you can bet I'll get them on DVD the day they'll be released.
as for female weakness ... when I collected VHS I owned the whole filmography of Nastassja Kinski
actually in Italy we haven't an actress so international like Sophie Marceau is, though I could point out that Sophia Loren made a stellar career without undressing. Overall I dislike nudity in the movies, I think sex scenes and nudity are an easy way to catch the eye of the public: John Ford, Alfred Hitchcock and all the rest of that kind had to be really good since they hadn't at their disposal such cheap tricks. Grace Kelly or Jeanne Moreau will always be more beautiful and sexy of the undressed Nicole Kidman or Sophie Marceau.
just my opinion

...very interesting...Nastassja Kinski.....

since the introduction of the DVD format I have been trying to get all of Sophie's and I.Adjani's films however lately the best ones have been coming out without subs....maybe I should start getting them and learn to be more proficient in French

...I still cant help it though....my French library needs too many other titles as well.....a lot of them bringing old memories...
