How are you getting along on FF Tactics Advance?
I have 30 of the 300 missions cleared and I'm at 8 hours. That's with the Action Replay on (unlimited HP and MP).
So I'm guessing about 80 hours for the whole thing. I'm a happy camper

off topic for a sec, you sure have alot of games GatorDeb. How many games do you buy a month on average? I noticed you listed Fallout 3 as one of your PC games. Would that happen to be FO Tactics, or are you just anticipating FO 3?

Already finished it. Good Strategy RPG + no job = marathon game playing. Play it at home...at bookstores...at coffee shops(to the intrigue/annoyance of other customers)...etc etc. Good game, but it's not really as long as it appears to be. I wish there was an option to have all the computer's moves be done in one fell swoop. Oh yeah, one more thing...

A) Why would you play with the Action Replay on? What fun is having unlimited HP?
B) Has anyone played this and Diseaga? I've heard FFTA turns go very slowly and I'm worried I'll be disappointed compared to this game.

NickDawgy, if you notice towards the bottom that's a list of videogames to check out, not owned I don't have Fallout 3.
FS, for me they are a way to pass the time. Just completing it is enough fun for me. I'm still doing exactly the same thing you are, only not dying, and dying was never fun for me
I play an average of 5-7 hours a day of videogames since I work at a call center overnight and we don't get many calls.
I have Disgaea and the dialog is HILARIOUS. I haven't put much time into it, though.
SuperBoy how many missions did you complete?

So you cheat the whole time?
Whats the fun in that?

Well, there's some glitch with the unlimited life code - it makes the enemies stand still, so it's always your turn.
Even with that, the fights are slow. Disgaea is a LOT faster.
I like FFTA better despite the lesser speed, though.

I'm about 25 missions in and really enjoying it now that I have the ins and outs of the Jobs and Weapons down.
Best Game Boy game I've played since Tactics Ogre.

Another awesome part:
I'd like to collect all weapons, armor, accessories, etc. So it's going to be at least 100 hours I think.

I'm about 20 hours into it. I've completed like 60+ missions. It's good, but it's much slower than FFT on the PS1.

I'm still a bit confused only logged on about 6 hours.
How do you catch monsters, I can only control them?
Do you learn new magic by leveling up?
Do I have to level up the different jobs of a certain character?
I'm a little dissapointed on a few facts (note only 6 hrs of gameplay)
The story is very thin.
There is no definate quest just go on a bunch of different missions.
Equipping really is a bear.
I miss going to different areas and visiting a new town to talk to people.
Despite these quibles I still like the game.

Tanman I have over 15 hours and have yet to catch a monster.
The story gets VERY good.
Here's how you get new jobs. You get new jobs by learning new abilities. You can use an ability if you equip the right equipment. To learn the ability permanently, equip the equipment and gain enough AP (ability points) to learn it.
There IS a definite quest. Keep playing
Do this for equipping: In a battle, hit B until you can go to the main menu (the one where it shows you the laws) and go to options. Scroll down until you get to NonEqpItems and turn that off. Now only equippable items show, and I just always pick the one near the bottom

BTW this is so cool it deserves its own post. Equip your guy with TWO attacking items (i.e. two swords). It only works with some characters (I can do it with Marche but not with Montblanc). When you attack, your guy hits twice!! (if you miss the first time you can get them the second time on the same turn).

I'm 40 missions in and enjoying the heck out of it, but once I beat it I doubt I will ever replay it.

Yup, the lack of variety really hurts the game. The law system was probably put in to mix it up a bit, but it's rather crippling early on when you need every person in your party at full capacity. Sometimes i would reset the game rather than play a battle with certain laws.
Advance Wars is still better IMO.

to answer the original question of the topic, i'm not getting along in FFTA at all. Disgaea has consumed my life, and I haven't even bought FFTA yet (although I have been meaning to) because I really would have no time to play it since classes and Disgaea consume all of my time. If people like FFT though, I definately recommend Disgaea. It is sooooooooooooo much fun :-D

Well I'm at 26 hours and 36 minutes, 93 missions complete, 24 people in my clan, Level 28 1 in 1000 Nutsy.
The story is getting awesome!
I have a question, though. For two of the missions offered I need to be an alchemist and a juggler. I know you become one my equipping the right item and then winning enough fights with that item. How do I know which item to equip?
