Phillips 726 Question

Is this particular model region free like the 727? Does anyone have any feedback on it?

I just bought this and did the hack and yes it is region free and it does the PAL conversion. I just got it last night, and i got the region 2 pal "Braindead", and it works fine. Other than not having an optical outlet it is really good player.

I think the 727, being a newer model and having higher bit rate usage might be a better deal, it's only about 90 bucks still. I just got mine and could not be more pleased. Picture quality is outstanding and it is fast to load. Plays EVERYTHING I throw at it.

Target reduced the price of the 727 recently. It used to be $99 and now is $89, which matches amazon. Remember you'll have to pay tax with Target but if you can't wait, this is probably the route to go.
