Seriously, there have been a TON of quality releases for the Saturn:

NiGHTS
Baku Baku
Daytona USA
Fighters MegaMix
Virtua Fighter 2
Virtua On
WipEout - bests the PSX version!
Fighting Vipers - get the import for Pepsiman!
Darkstalkers
Saturn Bomberman
Panzer Dragoon I, II and Saga
Dragon Force
Iron Storm
Tempest 2000 - my favorite!
Sonic Jam
Shining Force III
Sega Rally
Enemy Zero
Gungriffon
Last Bronx
Virtual Cop 2
Virtua Kids
X-Men
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Duke Nukem 3D
Shining the Holy Ark - didn't like it as much as other people did

And don't forget to pick up a Netlink if you can find one and play some great online games between friends.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Resident Evil for Saturn.

Get Shining Force 3, get Shining Force 3, get Shining Force 3. I cannot recommend this game enough. It is my favorite game of all time. I have played through it AT LEAST 5 times (and the quickest I ever made it through was in 30 hours) I love this game, and cannot recommend it enough. Guardian Heroes is also quite the killer game that I enjoy very much.

The Saturn is my all time favorite system. I feel it represents the pinnacle of 2D gaming, my favorite format

Panzer Dragoon Saga is IMHO the best rpg game for that system. Good luck trying to get one cause Sega of America did'nt make enough of them before they canned the Saturn. Try ebay but expect to pay a high prices for it.

Hey where you get one for $25 mine broke long ago and I'd like to pick one up. Also don't waste time getting it modded get this thing. I say get some of the 2-D fighters from capcom some of the best 2-D fighting your going to play. Damn I got to get a saturn so I can play them again

I would suggest TopDawg's method of importing... the only drawback is that some SNK games really dislike this thing and gives you a ton of ugly sprites... i think Samurai showdown was one of them... and if you do get an official RAM card, don't even think of a hot-swap. You'll lose your Saturn quicker than a set of nice rims at a 50 Cent concert. I eventually modded 2 newer Saturn's with a region switch. It's more convenient and definetly easy to do with ameteur soldering skills.

Jeremy
When you say X-Men I can only assume you mean children of the Atom, was it worlds better than the PSX version? Because the PSX version was horrrrrid.

Every fighting game that was released on both systems, is better on the Saturn. This is a constant law, like gravity.

I just had to ask because Ive played all the other fighters except Children of the Atom, the only exposure I've had to it was with the PSX version *shudder*

I loved some of those fighting games on PSX.. you do a special move and then "Now Loading..!"

Holy crap, Samurai Shodown 4 had like 3 minute load times, and then it would have to load after the characters intro taunts and after every round. I'm not even joking.

Dumb question: Which came first, Dreamcast or Saturn? What is the lineage of Sega consoles?

Master System > Genesis > Sega CD > 32X > Saturn > Dreamcast

I think that's right!

Try both Strikers games. You could get them both for less than Radiant Silvergun and you'll have just as much fun.
