Uncut Dobermann DVD?
Is the Korean edition of Dobermann the only DVD that has the uncut version of the film? I was looked at the others and they all have shorter run times. However the Korean edition is the only one w/o English subs. Making this a very hard decision. Does anyone know if any of these specs are correct or just errors? Thanx.

Shorter running time does not necessarily mean the film's been cut. If you're looking at a DVD that's in PAL, the running time is going to be shorter because films in PAL run 4% faster than their NTSC or theatrical counterparts. Thus Dobermann would be about 99 mins long uncut in PAL, which is what the running time o fthe UK edition is.
Also, the Taiwan edition lists a running time of 95 minutes, which I believe is incorrect. As far as I know it is uncut as well.
If you want to compare the various DVDs for this film, you should check out this site:

Note that it says that all the DVDs for this film are uncut, so the main determining factor is probably subtitles.

this is the best version available on the market (in my view that is):
http://www.dvdpascher.net/bestof/sea...hp?dvd_ref=933
...superb transfer (DTS included, no English subs, uncut/PAL, plenty of extras, double dvd set, Polygram/France). Since the Korean release (even the upcoming 16/9 new Spectrum version) is to be a direct port of the French disc for those concerned with the "ghosting" PAL/NTSC factor the French release should be the only option.....
...the initial Korean release is non-16/9...though the new one appears to be marketed as anamorphic....
..a cheaper Dutch version (French single port with Dutch subs) is also available through DVDZONE2....though lacking a bit in the extras......
...again, if you are region free the French presentation should be your primary choice (of course if you are fluent in French)
...avoid the subbed Tartan non-anamorphic version (though marketed as 16/9 by many online retailers)....horrible picture and obnoxious English subs.....
for those fluent in French here's a review: (and screen shots)

here's also the Director's official web site-Jan Kounen- who also directed the upcoming supernatural-western-adventure Blueberry set to hit France in a few months and the States...who knows when....of course starring the mandatory Vincent Cassel:

Full screen, poor quality- AVOID!!

The best version on the market is in France (as I have pointed out above)-
If you need English subs though then your only option is the British non-anamorphic Tartan release.
