Satellite Radio - Feedback

I am considering purchasing a satellite radio for my car and wondered what anyone's experiences are with this. Recommendations with either XM or Sirius?

I have XM in my car and I love it. I spend most of the time in my car listening to ESPN/Sporting News/Fox News, but occasionally will flip over to the music stuff to check out what's on. The only downside for me is that I didn't get the Skyfi unit and so I can only listen while I'm in my car and not in the house.

That's interesting you mention about the Skyfi unit as even though I was aware of it after the little research I did before posing the question here it wasn't something I had seriously considered. For that matter i had not even though much about Satellite Radio period as I have a CD changer in the car that gets a good workout all the time but recently my car had to go in for repairs as the transmission failed and they gave me a loaner while it was in there which had Sirius Satellite installled and it was awesome to say the least. I figured after I returned the loaner today I have to have it. There does seem to be some issues with financing for both these two companies with the inital enormous set up costs and appears XM is the slight front runner at present with subscriber base so I want to make an informed as a decision as I can here and seem to be leaning towards XM at present.

There's an free XM "GROUP" on YAHOO Groups but I don't know how much it will help you. I'm a member but I rarely go there.

Yeah, you can also check out xmfan.com which has message boards for everything xm out there, and I think the avs forums have a subsection dedicated to satellite radio as well.

Wal Mart of all places has a demo XM unit. I enjoy playing with it every time I'm there. Still isn't worth the subscription price to me. Pretty neat though.
