Where Eagles Dare Reviews?

Why doesn't anyone seem to be reviewing this great movie that has finally come to DVD?

Bought it today. If you haven't seen this movie, it's definitely worth a rent at least and a buy if you've got a spare 15 bucks...it's a lot of fun.

The DVD is actually pretty good. This particular movie was a holy grail for me on DVD. I'm really happy to finally have it. I'm used to seeing this movie in fullscreen on standard cable, so having it in anamorphic 2.35:1 with 5.1 sound is excellent!

The transfer is solid with accurate representation of the cool 60s "metrocolor" stock. WB finally kept the edge enhancment low (see "Giant" for WB edge enhancement gone awry). Schloss Adler is still one of my favorite settings for a movie and looks great, even after 35 years. As expected, the surrounds aren't very active (explosions and music only, really).

Great movie, average-to-good DVD. I bought it quickly.

I actually think the transfer is a little better than dvdreview seems to give it credit for (not that they hated it). WB has done a pretty good job with the Clint Eastwood collection and this disc continues the trend.

Here is another review of the DVD. I watched my copy the other night and thought Warner did a good job with it.

Classic movie. I think that they did a good job of it, none of the imperfections that the review detracted from the movie itself.

Watched it last night and it looked fine to me. The new 5.1 track obviously doesn't have the range of a new release, but served the film well.
