Dream A Little Dream.. Keep Dreaming..Full Screen Only
Well, the BS that is Artisan Entertainment, has decided that the best way to present this 80's film is...tada..in 4:3 only. What is it with the some of these 80's films only being released full screen?
Hot Dog
Johnny B Good
Can't Buy Me Love
..and the list goes on.
I figured I would check out Artsan's website....which by the way hasn't been updated since 2000. So, apparently, they are behind in the times.
This was going to be a movie I would have purchased instantly... but instead I am going to be taking a pass on it. It is a shame too. It was one of my favorite 80's teen flicks.
What's next? Fox deciding that License To Drive is worthy of a release at ALL?

I hate to thread crap but is that the awful movie were one of the Corey's is in his full on Micheal Jackson obsession?
I don't know what is stranger, someone so shamefully changing their persona to match someone else or the producers for allowing it.

That being said, I now sheepishly have to admit that I would have picked this up if it was widescreen. Maybe this is open matte? I may be able to forgive open matte.

From my post in the thread in the Bargains forum:
Yet another foolscreen Artisan release. They are idiots. Once again, the majority of people who are interested in catalog titles are collectors. Joe Sixpacks want to own the 17-disc special edition of Daredevil, not titles such as Dream a Little Dream. Artisan would undoubtedly generate more sales by offering it and other titles in their OAR. I, for one, might have considered picking this title up, but now, no way.

Artisan, we KNOW you can release great discs (Stargate: Ultimate, Resevoir Dogs, etc.), so why crap out SO completely when dealing with other titles. I'm not asking for a 2-disc set with commentary and multiple covers and alternate cuts... How about just widescreen when the OAR calls for it???!!!

I didn't say it was pan and scan, salamander2. I said "foolscreen." Many of Artisan's recent releases are unmatted titles, like Fright Night 2. It still equals no sale from me.
...Mischief I might buy unmatted though...
