Freddy vs. Jason-- Infinifilm, Maybe?

I was wondering with the box office success of 'Freddy vs. Jason' does anyone think we'll get an Infinifilm version of this great film!

I'm sure we'll get a commentary by Ronny Yu regardless. But it would be nice to get some featurettes / documentaries, deleted scenes (including an alternate ending) and another commentary or the same commentary (with Yu) with Robert Englund!

It would be great, but who knows, right?

I wouldn't be surprised. Jason X got a Platinum release and F vs J proved to be a lot more popular so they'll probably bump it up a notch.

I am sure it will get the full treatment. Hopefully we will get that alternate ending and lots of goodies. If FD2 can get Infinifilm so can FVJ.

I'd love to see this get the Infinifilm treatment!

I hope it's a Platinum release a la Blade II. It's produced by David Prior (Fight Club, Blade II, Pearl Harbor), so I assume lots of great extras.

That's what I was hoping for a nice 2 disk New Line Platinum Series release. I'm not a big fan of InfiniFilm.

I want a character commentary by Jason and Freddy.

Freddy: "This scene is really CUTTING EDGE!"

Jason: "..."

No. Infinifilm is, by design, a 1-disc release.

An infinifilm release has short 2-5 minute documentaries that you can play during the film when an icon pops up on the screen (like X-Men or The Matrix). Infinifilm also usually has great extras and commentaries. Platinum releases NOW are usually 2 disc releases with all of the extras on the second disc and maybe a commentary on the first. Fellowship of the Ring is a Platinum Series release only with multiple discs.

I think they should make it as great a DVD as they can. Hit, while the fire is hot. Get people all eager for FvsJ 2.

I'd like to see a makeup featurette. I just watched the 'Progress reports' on Blade II and it's very, very interesting to watch, especially when you find out you've been fooled by a puppet/cgi. For all the poor CG-stuntmen in Blade II, there's a lot of CGI I never noticed.

Freddy goes through a couple of types of burnt face in Freddy Vs. Jason, not to mention Jason's 'head' and the multiple burns/scars/gushes of blood.

I'm surprised it isn't announced already. A couple months ago, we were getting DVD dates before the theatrical release!

Documentarys during the film? [Mr Horse]No sir, I dont like it.[/Mr Horse] Give me the movie on this disc, and the extras on that disc and dont muddle the line between the two. If I want to watch the film I watch the film, and if I want the docs I dont want to have to skip around in the film to do so.

Give me the Platnium Edition. They have better documentaries.
Supposedly, F vs. J was to be 2 hours, so expect 30 mins of deleted scenes.

Oh, one other thing about this dvd.....DTS.

I would prefer a Platinum Edition rather than an Infinifilm release, as well.

IMO, Infinifilm is only useful for movies based on a true story (Thirteen Days, Blow) or based on an issue (John Q). I like the fact that they explore the reality fo the topics in more depth. However, it's completely silly for stuff like Goldmember (Disco Fever?) or Friday After Next (BBQ documentary?).

For F vs J I'd like to see new retrospective documentaries for each series, a documentary on the various scripts that were rejected for it and the long road it took to become a reality, a featurette on the cult status of the two, plus the usual behind-the-scenes stuff.
