As there has been a recent glut of MGM horror releases classic and otherwise, I was wondering if I missed the release of Tod Browning's Mark of The Vampire with Bela Lugosi.
If indeed this is still an MGM property.

I think Warner owns this one now, and it isn't likely on their list of priorities.

Its going to be shown on October 12th on TCM. I'm going to put it on a DVD+R then. Not sure when or if Warner is ever going to release this or Freaks on DVD so I'm just going to record them when I get the chance.

What about The Mask of Fu Manchu with Boris Karloff? I believe that that was an MGM title, has anyone out there heard of a release date for this movie in the DVD format?

Anything that was a old MGM title belongs to Warner Bros. Its up to them and not MGM to release it. Warner is very slow about getting obscure titles on DVD so its hard to say when this will get a DVD release.

The key to optimism on this is here:What I mean by that is, this is the "release movies for Halloween" season. Halloween comes every year. There will probably be another "glut" next year, and maybe we'll get these then. If not, there's always the next year.

PS Yes, I am a Cubs fan, as a matter of fact.
