24: The Complete Second Season
We have just reviewed the Complete Second Season of 24. Here's a taste...
"Top-to-bottom, this is one of the best TV sets you will find on DVD. The audio and video quality are excellent, and the special features are simply amazing. Put these factors with a wonderful show such as this, and you would be foolish not to add this set to your collection."

question, I know there are tons of spoilers on the menus, can I hit play all and then go to a menu deciding which version I want? Or do I have to do it on the annoying spoiler filled menus

I viewed the first 8 episodes this evening and I must say, there is an plenty of grain. It mostly appears when the camera is focused on the sky. There were even issues of some grain for inside shots. The sound is fantastic. Overall so far, sound is superior on 24: Season 2 where the picture on Season 1, in my opinion, beats this as I never even noticed any grain during that entire viewing.
As for spoliers....I found there to be nothing earth shattering. When the DVD starts, it loads to the choice of viewing the first through four episode. When you click on each epidsode, you are taken to that episodes menu. The only picture displayed is a still shot.
At the beginning of each episode, you are given a review of the prior one.
So far, only the first episode is without a break. It is just a constant running of the show. Starting with the second, the breaks are shown where the commerical was to be.
Like I said, the only drawback for me was the notice of heavy grain during sky shots or anytime you could see the sky...and some indoor scenes.
Also, I was viewing this on a 55 inch HDTV widescreen. So, for that review to say there was barely noticable grain is incorrect in my view. And as stated above....I viewed Season 1 on the same set and saw no grain.
As for the special features...I haven't finished watching it yet but am looking forward to them. I am loving every minute of it.

I think the GRAIN you are refering to is just the nature of the show... it is a bit grainy when it airs on TV...but that's just the nature of film... I'll comment more when I get the set tomorrow, but I think the DVD accurately portrays the way the show is shot... also, season 1 had a considerable amount of grain, but it's just due to the shooting style and IMO works great with the style of the show.

Rypro....you are correct..some of them do give something away...but nothing to major. I found myself looking away and clicking real fast to play.
As for the grain..like I said, I didn't notice it on the Season 1 disc..doesn't mean it wasn't there. I just noticed the grain much easily on season 2...which again...is a fabulous DVD set!
