Pretty weak opening for The Medallion. It's a sad day when Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhies get the better of Jackie Chan.

with no real competition, of course this is a given. also noting jackie's most reccent works it seems like his appeal to the normal folks is lackluster when not in a comedic side kick type of situation.

This is possibly one of the worst new releases week ever. I didn't even know Marci X and My Boss's Daughter were out...and given the numbers, it looks like Marci X will be out of theatres by Sunday.

The Marci X numbers are low, but it doesn't really surprise me. Seriously, did the trailer look appealing to ANYONE?
I hope the low turnout for Shaker Heights doesn't kill the Project Greenlight franchise. If anything I hope they'll take a break on these mainstream-ish, coming-of-age type stories and next time pick something harder edged. I liked the screenplay, but it was one of the "safest" entries I'd read.

But still, considering the costs of production and Ben/Jen's salaies, Gigli is a MUCH bigger bomb. Marci X probably cost all of $20 million to make total.

I think its nice to see all of the Ashton Kutcher-hype fizzle as his latest movie is a dud out of the gate. Now if only I can stop hearing about him.

I'm not really a fan of F or J, but I have to say I love seeing a fanboy wetdream slasher pic taking number one.
Those Pirates numbers are pretty impressive too.

I am soooooo glad that FvsJ was such a success!
It shocked me that it beat out S.W.A.T. twice and it beat out The Medallion (I'm am actually very happy about this)
It's been a long time since a slasher film has been a huge success like this!
