Yes, I recall this commercial! I don't think I ever saw it on TV, but in college someone in my class had a tape of this weird Star Wars stuff.
Try going to www.x-entertainment.com (don't be afraid of the name, it's not a porno site). Try looking in there archives, I know they must have an article about this commercial. they may even have it availible for download.

I'll always remember a commercial for ROTJ figures. This one featured a recreation of the scene where freshly unfrozen Han Solo is walking the plank over the "pit." One of the kids controlling the scene takes off the Lando's "Jabba Henchman" helmet and yells "Surprise, surprise it's Lando Calrissian in disguise!" and the battle to save Han Solo ensues. Weird how these things stick with you.

Yeah, I know this commercial... it was one of those public service announcements for the American Cancer Society. It ran quite a bit in the late 70s/early 80s. I even have it burned onto DVD somewhere, I'm pretty sure.

I bet you can find this somewhere online. Poke around at www.theforce.net or similar sites.

My favorite was the Kenner one from ESB recreating the Luke and Wampa scene. The kid moving the wampa makes the sound effect for the wampa walking. Wich sounded "Wampa. Wampa. Wampa" it was awesome.

I remember this commercial too!

But I still love when Harrison Ford broke out into song during THE STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL. Not his finest moment...but still better than HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE.
