"Let It Be" by The Beatles - the single: Producer George Martin vs Phil Spector?
Since the beginning, George Martin has been the producer behind all The Beatles music - until 1970, when producer Phil Spector produced the track Let It Be on the album of the same name. Oddly enough, the single version was the George Martin-produced version.
Which version did you appreciate? I enjoy the George Martin version because it brings out the guitar solo better.

Credit is also due to Glyn Johns. Here's an appropriate quote from him in regards to plans for a De-Spectorized release of Let It Be in the works:
Veteran British music producer Glyn Johns, sound engineer on the original Get Back sessions, awaits the restored release of Let It Be. "My version of [the song] "Get Back" actually was released fairly quickly as a single", he says. "And my version of [the song] "Let It Be" was also released, before Phil Spector puked all over it. And I hope you quote me on that. If you hear "The Long and Winding Road" without all that schlock on it, it's fabulous just like it is".

Glyn Johns is a professional album shortener. They also hired him to shorten The Clash's Combat Rock or Rat Patrol At Fort Bragg before he got his hands on it.

That's an interesting perspective and I suppose that shortening any album is usually not a good thing. I always cringe when I hear George Martin say he that he thinks that the White Album would have been much better trimmed down to one album.
I've always heard John's rep as well thought of, including influential work on The Eagles first several albums, Steve Miller Band, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.
