Mr. Show s3 DVD at BestBuy????

I know most likely that BestBuy goofed up and put the Mr. Show Season 3 DVDs in this weeks ads instead of next week, but...

Has anybody found them on the shelves yet at BB, or is it going to be an incredibly long wait until the 26th???

It was supposed to come out Tuesday, then they put a correction notice that it was due next week, only to have them shipped on Tuesday and put out on the shelves for sale now. Your stores should have them in stock or should be getting them shortly.

There was a thread either here or at HTF that said the studios contacted Best Buy about not selling ER and Mr. Show early and all Best Buys have a sign up reading "Due to circumstances beyond our control these titles will not be available until Aug. 26."

They weren't at my local Best Buy yesterday, but I might swing by again tomorrow.

Yeah, they had a ad correction flyer in the TV section at my Best Buy Tuesday. It's just as well for me anyway, as I bought 6 DVDs Tuesday and I'm trying to find time to watch them...

Damnit they just kept telling me it sold out. They had the sign with an empty shelf saying where it should have been. I figured though after the second Best Buy that they screwed up, there aren't that many Mr. Show fans.

Two different BB stores here in Cleveland told me that the shipment of Mr. Show #3 and Simon & Garfunkel - Central Park DVDs was late and they'd both be in by the end of the week.

Damnit. I didn't feel like going up to Paramus tonight. Was just there this passed weekend in Ikea hell.

So is Best Buy the only place that has this out early? Or are other stores carrying it now?

We have some in our warehouse in the back, but none on the shelves. There was a mention of this during the early morning meeting on Tuesday, but I wasn't really paying attention, as I never really do.

Is the $28 price listed in the ad also the actual sticker price or is that a sale price?

BB (and other stores) do this every so often where the advertised "sale" price is identical to the everyday sticker price.

I have to go out of town today and didn't know if I should make a pitstop to pick this up. If the sticker price is also $28, I can just wait until I get back into town on Sunday.

Mine was stickered at 27.99. You shouldn't have to worry unless they plan on restockering them all.

I'm listening to the audio commentary on it as I type. BB in Lenexa KS on 119th street has them on the shelves for 28$.

I can officially confirm this & a HUUUGE thanks Civic2oo1, I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for you. Just went over there on my lunchbreak & they have TONS of them on display in the new this week section with a giant sign directly over the Mr. Show: Season 3 that says "New for the week of August 19[/b]. But I was there on Tuesday & I swear they didn't have them out yet. Anyway, I'm not complaining, this is my most anticipated DVD of the year, & I'm going to watch the hell out of this tonight.

Just opened it up, it comes with 2 inserts & on is an ad for the Run Ronnie Run movie & at least the first pick I've seen of what the DVD looks like. Also I had no clue that it comes out so soon Sept, 12th.

Did anybody else get an extra copy of disc 1 instead of disc 2?

In the spirit of those getting ready for the Season 3 DVD, here's a local interview from last week with Bob Odenkirk. It's a pretty damned good read, thanks to the Carbondale Nightlife .

Thanks a lot Salty , that was a great read. I'm probably the only one, but I think Bob Odenkirk is the single most brilliant comic mind in the business. His comedy is so smart, & edgy there isn't even anyone to compare him to. I would to see a DVD of all his failed pilots he made for TV. In fact a DVD itself showing failed pilots that never aired seems like it would be a gold mine. I'm sure tons of people here alone would buy it, the pilots are just that, failures so they aren't making anyone any money, put them on DVD & it seems you have quite a bit of profit.

A side note, I just finished listening to all the commentaries on Mr. Show: Season 3 last night & like the first, they are as funny as the show itself. On some of them though there are just too many people in the room & they just talk all over each other which can but just a bit annoying, but it's hysterical none the less.

The idiotic Best Buy employees in my area put up those little sheets of paper on Tuesday when I went to buy it saying sorry for the inconvenience and that it was being delayed. I figured what the heck, and asked one of the employees if they had it in. He said no, and brought me to the sheet of paper there on the shelf. After he left I picked up the Mr. Show Season 1 and 2 release which I already own and noticed there were 6 copies of season 3 behind it. What morons.

You're welcome, and it's nice to let people know he went to SIUC.

I'd also like to add he does the single best impression of Robert Evans I've ever seen.
