Had a package in the mail this morning. Opened it and there was the Versus DVD. I went hmmm, when did I order that??? Then went thru my e-mails and found the ordering/shipping notices. Oh well ok, I guess I did order it! Which is a good thing cause I was going to order it again this week.

I think this experience should be a warning sign to you ....

Yeah. I've ordered something, then forgot that I ordered it, and then repurchase the item again later. Finally, I get 2 copies of the same DVD, and I start wondering how much poorer can my memory be.

I think that's a sign of overbuying, or too much money!

I tend to keep track of what's on its way to me, considering how much it's costing me. Though my $3 copy of Gotcha! kinda took me by surprise since I ordered it so long ago.

I order a DVD, and it goes right into the 'on order' section of DVD Aficionado.

I like to keep my preorder pile pretty small and save all the confirmation e-mails I receive. That eliminates the "when on earth did I order this" question.

That's one thing fortunately I haven't done yet. Now when it comes to books or other things ordered through the mail that's a different topic, but DVDs I keep track of

never happens. if you're not keeping track of dvds ordered...then that also says yer not tracking money spent.

No way. My budget is too small to not keep track of every cent I spend on DVDs.

I never forget ordering anything. For DVD's, ordered ones go into DVD Profiler. And since I rarely order DVD's anyway (I prefer B&M), it's not too hard to keep up.

I don't have a DVD budget, therefore I don't track money spent. I just buy what I want, when I want to. And sometimes, I forget.

for what it's worth...same here. what I do is keep a list right nect to the pc...of dvds I order on-line...maybe 3 or 4 a week. included is the date they are expected to arrive at my door. if they dont show up...I'm all over somebodys ass to find out why.

I wish. It'd be nice to have so much on order it's hard to keep track of, but that won't be my future for a while.


Actually, come to think of it, I do think this happened to me- once. I had sent away for a free DVD (one of those buy this DVD get your choice of one of these 20 crappy DVDs for free in the mail deals) and it took so long to arrive I forgot I had ordered it. At the time it arrived, I happened to be expecting one other DVD in the mail and thought I'd been sent the wrong disc when I first opened the package.

Nope, I know what I order and what I have not ordered.

I'm puzzled that my DVD Discoveries still isn't at my house.

Never. I hope my dvds never get that impersonal. Every day when I buy one is like a holiday.

This happens to me all the time. I see it as an early Christmas/birthday gift!

With my preorders stretching up to December, it's a wonder that I don't double-order titles!

Not a chance I keep too good of records, except may be a pre-order comes sooner than expected.

The thing is I don't even order that many. But I order quite a bit from DVDSoon and those sometimes take forever to get here because they seem to have very little in-stock inventory. So, I forget! See, I don't reallly care about delivery dates because stressing about stuff like that isn't good for you. And I've got a lot of unwatched DVD's anyway so there's always something for me to watch. And the DVD's always seem to get here eventually. Well, I think they do.

Nope! As long as I get them I don't care. In fact I don't get the "I must have this now!" mentality and people who get all pissy when stuff is delayed. I've got plenty to occupy myself in the meantime. Stressing about stuff you have no control over is a waste of energy.

..which would have been a bigger waste of energy than keeping track of when you should get it.

No, can't say that I have.

Nope, I keep track of everything I've ordered. If there were still those great deals from that late 1998-2000 period, I could see how this might happen. I think after Freeride died, that's even the deals died. Of course, it was hard to beat free DVDs.

In the past 14-15 months, I've purchased more than an average of one per day, and I've never forgotten an order that I made.

However, I do see how it's possible to forget one of those mail-in-offers esp. the ones from Columbia Tri-Star cuz those take forever. (It's been 6 months and I'm still waiting for Bad Boys).
