Lost Highway DVD in the works!

I can't confirm, but I have strong reason to believe that Lost Highway will finally be coming to DVD in the U.S. Let's just say that I happen to have a position at the studio that released Lost Highway where I handle many of the outgoing tapes, and lately there have been quite a few Lost Highway master tapes moving on and off the lot. I noticed this trend with Scarface some time ago, and sure enough a re-release is on it's way. It's still probably going to be at least 6 months before we'll see Lost Highway on the shelves, but I just figured I'd give everyone a heads up. More info to come as I investigate further.

That's good news. I've been expecting a release for some time now. I've got the R4 disc, but I'm looking forward to this one.

I second that...

But I would also hope that they don't neglect to put chapter stops in this release.

Yeah..I hope they do. If they didn't that would totally bum me out.

I wouldn't hold my breath

Anyway i'm not sure it is 'neglect' as such as i think they pretty much have to keep in line with David Lynch's wishes and as we all know he's not a great fan of the idea......almost as strange a decision as trying to figure out what the hell is going on in his films

Cool, that'll be great. Still have my widescreen VHS so I've postponed any foreign purchases. Never tire of seeing this film.

I'm very happy with my R4 release (aside from a couple of blemishes on the transfer) so it'd take a really nice version to get me to upgrade.

I am ashamed to admit that the canadian P&S copy will be getting replaced here, and readily. Wasn't WILD AT HEART on the burner for 2003 sometime?

Yah, what DID happen to the Lynch approved transfer and 5.1 mix of Wild at Heart? It was on AMC a few weeks back and I was assuming that perhaps we'd see a DVD of it sometime soon.

Go region free, people. I've got the German edition of Lost Highway and the UK edition of Wild at Heart. Not only do they have beautiful OAR transfers, but they also have chapter stops.

Hope you're true and right, and that this gets an absolutely class-A+ transfer. I don't care if there are chapter stops or not, as long as the A/V quality is tops!

What's the big deal? Use your remote to go 15, 30,45,1 hours etc. into the film. From there most remotes have a 100 x option. Shouldn't take you more than a couple minutes to find the spot you wanted ...

I agree. Chapter stops are a non-issue for me.

As I am sure you do,
I value the sound and soundtracks of Lynch films highly and it was this that made me get that tragic Canuck release of LH.

Also this coming Saturday, Sci Fi channel is showing a preview of the TRIO channel and that consists of an airing of LOST HIGHWAY-
an edited for TV version of this has got to be painful, (and you thought the P&S version, was bad)

even worse than that......a friend of mine who has spent this summer studying Arabic in Beirut told me that Mulholland Drive was on tv there......she hasn't seen the film yet so didn't want to watch it on tv, but her roommate said it was horribly edited. I can only imagine. I mean what is Mulholland Drive without the lesbian sex scenes?? (I imagine they were cut totally or cut heavily).
