which was the one where Daffy was being drawn into situations by an animator and then it turns out, it was bugs all along. A few years ago cartoon network had like the top 100 looney tunes marathon and that one was number one (and a favorite of mine)

unfortunalty, these will still be the crappy looking versions we see all the time on cartoon network, not the restored version.

They still can't seem to play the true ending to "Ballot Box Bunny" though.

whats the "true ending"?
whats the "true ending"?
The edited ending---Bugs and Sam are chasing each other and a motorcade passes through with the new mayor. It's a racehorse and they play off a "dark-horse" and "mayor/mare" pun. Then it goes to "That's all folks"
The true ending---the toon continues with Bugs and Sam playing a game of Russian Roulette. I believe Sam goes first and it just clicks. Bugs gets the gun and it fires, but the screen goes black and then comes back. Turns out, Bugs ducked and it hit Sam. But not any worse than when Daffy gets shot.

Well, according to the DVD Talk thread on the boxset:
Don't know about the LDs though.
restored and re-mastered to its original, uncut, anvil-dropping, laughter-inducing glory

Daffy Duck has always been my favorite. I like the older cartoons where he was just insane. I don't like the ones where he plays the buffoon.

Now "Show Biz Bugs" has had it's ending chopped off!
This is the one where Bugs and Daffy perform onstage. Bugs gets all the audience reactions, while Daffy just gets silence. The edited version now ends with Daffy playing his exploding instrument because Bugs hit the wrong notes. It should end with Daffy drinking all kinds of explosive materials and blowing himself up (guess it's not too hard to figure out why it was cut).
What gets me: several years ago, the episodes would be cut in a way to avoid anything with a character being shot. That Daffy ending was still there. Now it's OK to show those characters being shot, but the Daffy ending gets cut.
All I can say is: I hope the DVD boxset sells well. It's the only way we're ever going to see completely uncut Looney Tunes.

From the DVD thread it's clear that many of you know your Looney Tunes history, and I've got some questions I'm wondeing about.
Saturday, many had colored squares during the title segments. What's being covered up? Next, when and why did they stop calling them Merry Melodies? Finally, I remeber now and then seeing some with a different (worse) animation and music style. (Not on Saturday's Marathon). When were theses made, I assume it's later, the 60's perhaps?
Thanks
