HAZZARD PAY: Ashton Kutcher and Paul Walker have expressed interest in playing no-harm-meanin' good-ol' boys Luke and Bo Duke in Warner Bros.'s upcoming big-screen version of that '80s show The Dukes of Hazzard, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Britney Spears, meanwhile, is being eyed as a possible Daisy Duke, and rumor has it Anna Nicole Smith is the frontrunner to play Boss Hogg.

I can see why they would do this, since every single other 60's-80's tv show produced into a movie has been a stellar success.

I read that Anthony Anderson was in mind for Boss Hogg. This is sure to be more controversial than Michael Clarke Duncan as The Kingpin. But more importantly, Paul Walker's gonna tear the General Lee up!!

This could be some campy fun.
It's not like the Dukes of Hazzard was quality television to begin with.
I'd see it just for Britney in Daisy Dukes.

MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP!
Romero can't get funding to make a fourth "Dead" movie, but someone's throwing money at this ****?
It makes me sick.

For some reason, I think the basic image of the General Lee will have to be heavily altered for this to ever even make in to the "politically correct" stages. Imagine the back-lash that the actors in the movie will get from many organizations for glorifying an object w/ a Confederate symbol on it.

Nope.
While this is an excellent try, I still think the Starsky and Hutch movie w/ mix n' match morons Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller is the most dreadful thing on the horizon.
Dukes loses out by including the possibility of glimpsing Britney in her natural milieu.
They would have to counteract that by doing something really nitwitted, like casting Jackie Chan or Luis Guzman to play Uncle Jesse.
