What's your Favorite Station for Movies?

Although I've got many dvds to I still watch movies that air on television and I was curious what most of you tune into for movies.

HBO is great but replay movies to death sometimes, second is AMC and then Bravo. Although the latter 2 have commercials they include al ot of backround info during the breaks.

Don't have any Premium channels and my cable service dumped Bravo.

But I would still say TCM. Some great old flicks (and silent ones!) I never would have known about and lots of good theme nights.

AMC now sucks. They have commercials and play more recent stuff.

Encore-Action. The only movie channel you'll ever need.

It varies on depending what movies are shown, and how they are shown.

Since getting HBO in February I have been watching more movies on that channel then when I had Showtime. Showtime had few good movies and some good made-for cable movies.

I used to love AMC, but since they started having commercials, I have layed off on that channel. And showing movies in the 90s? O.K... So TCM is now the bread winner, now my favorite for watching classic movies. Showing movies uncut and in widescreen/letterbox.

I like IFC because that is how I first knew about independent movies. And sometimes they will different themed movies for each month.

TCM, the way a classic movie channel should treat movies.

Mine is TBS; those saturday afternoon movies are a great way to while away the time. Example: Waterboy, Bond, Dumb&Dumber, any movies with Emilio Estevez.

AMC sucks big time with their Pan & Scan crap that is advertised as being "the full screen version." I can understand (but not approve) of the standard cable channels sticking to P & S, although it does seem rather silly when so many of the top-rating shows are presented in widescreen...but AMC is supposed to be American Movie Classics.

So, my choice would be Sci-Fi, except now it seems like they're doing pan & scan crap. Shame.

I really wish I got TCM, all movies in original aspect ratio sounds great, as does their selection. But it's not to be.

TCM

The premium channels just play movies I have easy access to. TCM plays movies I don't and still really want to see.

It used to be AMC, but they're following the Sci-Fi model now: appeal to a wide audience instead of your bread and butter.

TCM without a doubt -- no commercials, unedited, OAR, stuff nobody else shows (ie. bollywood) = great!

TCM, absolutely. I've seen so many great older flicks on that channel.

HBO is okay, but how many times can I watch Ace Ventura?

AMC - I don't even bother checking out what's on. Phooey.

IFC and SUNDANCE - Both play some decent movies once in a while, but it seems like every other movie is about a British teenager coming to grips with his homosexuality.

Honk!

None.. If a movie comes on a station and I have the DVD in my collection, I'll always pop in the DVD.

The only premium channels I get are HBO and Starz. Despite the lack of OAR, both channels are always nice to catch those certain kinds of movies that you wouldn't ordinarily waste money on to rent.

But TCM gets my vote ..love that Robert Osbourne!

I don't get any premiums, but I really enjoy IFC. Movies are uncut and OAR. Got exposed to Barton Fink, Ghost Dog and Way of the Gun though IFC.
