Hopefully there will be a Roger Ebert commentary.

(This is the movie he wrote right?)

Strange... the link to the BVD site... and there's a link to start a petition site where it states that Fox is releasing the DVD but if they don't do a special edition, then they should license the rights to Criterion or Image.

I'm all for a special edition, no matter who puts it out.

Roger Ebert: "What? You want me to do a commentary for that? THAT? I'll doa commentary for ANYTHING but that!"

CC: "Well, we're a little short on features for Floating Weeds..."

Ebert: "What?!? Never heard of it! But if it gets me out of BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS..."

Seriously, I'd love an Ebert commentary - he could do an interesting comm for the most tepid films - but I'm sure that one for BTVOTD would be hilarious. Full of college stories, laughter at how bad the film is, and of course apologies. Plus, how many times people have brought up BTVOTD when Ebert is said to have 'lost it' in DVD Talk...

I will definitely purchase this one. Fox needs to get of it's butt and release the camp fest "Valley of the Dolls" as well.

I don't believe he is ashamed of it. He was all set to do a commentary on laser a few years ago, but the studio dropped it when it was rerated NC17.

Myra Breckenridge coming from Fox but when???

I'm still awaiting a listing/release date for Myra Breckenridge from Fox, which movie director Mike Sarne assures me that Fox will be releasing shortly. He's just come back from LA where he's been putting together a "making of" documentary for the DVD release.

I hope that it will come out in time for Christmas this year?

I saw Roger Ebert him arguing with Roeper on their TV show about some movie and Roeper accused Ebert of being more of a "prude" than he was. Ebert's reply was
"I wrote an X-Rated Movie! I'm not a prude"
(or words to that effect). I've heard him talk about it several times on talk shows. I doubt he's ashamed of it.
