JakII Commercial

Anyone else seen this?

I have seen it about 4-5 times now and it looks pretty decent, i never played the first one so i dont know much about this game..

But... it say its being released in October.. Isnt this too early to start showing commercials for it? I didnt even see a commercial for Knights of the Old Republic until last weekend and its coming out this wed!

The first one was fun for a rental - I don't see much replay in it, but it's worth renting. This one looks cool I guess.

I own Jak I and I love it. For those of you missing the platform games of Nintendo 8-bit, this is fantastic.

The reviews I have read about JAK II basically say that JAK is much more violent, with more moves. Not the innocent boy he once was.

For whatever that is worth. Sounds like more interesting gameplay.

Jak II is a completely new design from Jak and Daxter. It has incorporated RPG elements into an advanced fighting system. The first one was kind of short (its only flaw), but this one should be great.

I tried the demo in EB. It is darker and more violent, but the basic gameplay seems intact. It certainly looks better than the original, but nowhere near as nice as those early screenshots seen here.
As far as the commercials go, I guess with the first one having sold so well as a GH title, they want to create awareness of the sequel. I haven't seen the ads yet. Any links?

I have the demo, it's pretty damn fun, with some incredible FX.

Why are they advertisizing this if it isn't to be released until September? They must have a lot of money to burn.

I'm playing the 1st one now and am 60% through it. The mindless fun is quite a relief from having to think to much while playing a game. The unlimited lives are also great. Hopefully Ratchet and Clank will be $20 soon so I can pick that up too. Jak2 will also be a GH purchase for me.

Really? Figures... I never go to blockbuster. Hollywood DVD is my renting joint of choice.

Anyone know if this is now a greatest hit or just a markdown?

For reasons unknown, Blockbuster decided several months ago to fart in the face of profit and sell lots of A-list games for $20 each. This included Metroid Prime, Resident Evil Zero, Ratchet and Clank, and several others. I'm sure there was some internal corporate logic at work, but it had nothing to do with the Greatest Hits program or any similar console manufacturer-based incentives programs.
