So, my house lacks central AC and being the humid and disgusting summer that Washington DC inflicts on it's residents, last nights trip to the Safeway was a much needed blast of cold air. While aimlessly shopping for much needed food a song came over the store's PA system that I while insanely poppy and chirpy I was wondering if anyone here can tell me who sings it.

female vocalist 60's sounding all I can remotely remember is from the refrain goes something like"

"well I'm on top of the morning" ...

somewhat related question:

also who sings that song that goes
"run captain run, on your sailing ship" or something to that effect, any good compliation CDs that have this song on it.

The first one I'm not sure but could it be Top of The World by the Carpenters?
