Tim Burton's Batman?
Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch?
John Ford's The Searchers?
Raoul Walsh's White Heat?
Richard Donner's Ladyhawke?
John Huston's The Maltese Falcon?
Thanks in advance.

... well, until the next Batman film comes out on DVD. Only then will the 1989 one be revisited.
The rest of them - how the hell should we know? We'll only know as soon as they're announced.

I'll give you my own fair guesses, but that's all. Don't take my word for it.
Deliverance, I'd say probably. Excalibur, probably not.
Batman, almost for sure.
Wild Bunch, almost for sure.
The Searchers, I certainly hope so, and I'm defintely getting my hopes up.
White Heat, I wouldn't get my hopes up, unfortunately.
Ladyhawke, probably not.
The Maltese Falcon is almost a sure thing. Probably the most sure thing listed. This must be the most wanted two-discer in Warner's classic library, now that all the riffraff (no offense intended) have shown themselves.

I'm willing to bet that Tim Burton's Batman will be given the 2-disc Special Edition treatment. Maybe not this year or even next, but I know it will be. My life depends on it. Actually, even if it doesn't get the 2-disc treatment, it will still get a SE eventually. I can feel it in my bones. To say "especially not Batman" seems completely illogical to me. Batman made considerably more money than other movies that got the 2-disc treatment. I think it's inevitable, but that's just me.

Yes and no.
The Wild Bunch, Batman, and The Searchers are movies that would likely have enough potential for a 2-disc edition.
Deliverance and Ladyhawke could get 1-disc SE's with new commentaries. I doubt a whole 2-disc set would be worthwhile.
The Maltese Falcon WOULD make a 2-discer, no doubt. Have Roger Ebert do a commentary, do a new remaster, and put the two earlier versions on disc 2 (Satan Met a Lady and 1931's The Maltese Falcon). Plus, they could make it into another Night At The Movies edition by including Hollywood Steps Out as the cartoon.
White Heat will likely get a nice edition...WB hinted at more Cagney coming up.
Excalibur probably won't get one since it already is a dual-layer with a commentary.

I noticed a trailer on the Yankie Doodle Dandy dvd is
Angels with dirty faces.
I reckon this will be a forthcoming Cagney release.
Can't wait - Angels with dirty faces is one of my fav classics. Hope it gets a 2 disk treatment.

P.S. To be honest, I thought someone was just taking a shot at Batman. Lot of haters on this board, and it wouldn't surprise me if a Batman and/or Burton hater took a swing. I actually laughed the first time I read it, but then mistook it for seriousness, which I've already explained.

i guess i would qualify as a Burton/Batman hater, but it is pretty odd that WB would not issue an SE of this, this year in particular- what with all the Marvel properties hitting the big screen, Smallville doing very well on its network, and a Smallville dvd set due out later in the year- and especially with all their big screen DC hero efforts stalled and in creative dissarry.
i wouldn't be picking it up, but i know there are tons of people who would-so waiting to tie it in to a 2-3 year off, at least, movie seems like a waste of time you could already be generating revenue in.
i think the whole corporate mindest of tying catalog titles in with like-propertied theatrical releases ( All That Jazz's delay for Chicago, The Universal Monsters retarded until Van Helsing, etc, etc) is just so damned patronizing and pin-headed.
What if Van Helsing sucks?
Or Batman Year 1 is a steaming pile?
does that mean the people that would buy Revenge of the Creature, or a Batman SE then wouldn't now?
anyways, of the titles metioned,
i would love to see The Searchers restored.
one or two discs doesn't much matter to me as much as the film being cleaned up, registrtion problems fixed, and new hi-def masters being made.
its a glorious technicolor movie, but the current dvd is not exactly up to 2003 catalog standards.

For the record, there was a WB chat rather recently and I have read a transcript of it. One of the main questions was regarding Batman. I'll sum it up for you guy's and if I can find the transcript, I'll post it.
Batman & Batman Return's are both goin' to get special editions. The thing is, they are being held up until the newest Batman movie is released. They are in production. The material is there , they are just holding them as pre-movie hype. The problem with this is, which Batman project are they waiting for? Batman: Year one? Or the other Batman sequel - that is suppose to feature 'The ScareCrow'? Either way, both projects seem to be held in delays, so lord knows how long it could be before we see the DVD special editions of Burton's.
Batman: The Animated series...No plans for season releases. WB Family seems to be happy doin' the smaller releases, while Columbia House is releasing the complete series , in episode order.
As a huge Batman / Burton fan I have waited and waited for these special edition releases, because I hate to double dip.. However, I finally broke down and bought Batman and Batman Returns... I'm really upset that there isn't even trailers on the current releases.

With Christopher Nolan attached to the direct, i think a new Batman movie is finally furthur along then it has been in quite some time. The WB seems to be concentrating on Superman more though =\
