Yep. "I Love the 80s" was great. And there were some good things in the 70s.

Coming to VH1: I Love the 70s

So i'm watching the '87 edition of "I Love the 80s" -- yet AGAIN! It's hypnotic, I tell ya..

ANYways...

During one of the segments, one of those little crawls/static ads/FOX marketing ads [whatever they're called] scrolls across the right hand corner of the screen:

"I Love the 70s -- Coming In August!"

Just thought i'd give a heads up...Don't know how this new one'll compare [at least until '76] but, i'll tune in*.

* [As long as there are no testimonials from Beyoncé or Leann Rimes ]

It'll be better if they don't turn everything into something sexual like they did with the '80s.

Hopefully they will have celebrities that can reach the level of humor Mo Rocca, Hal Sparks and the dude from Ed brought to the 80s special.

Hmmmm, I was around for the 80's, so I loved the show. The 70's on the other hand...

compare the 80's to the 70's... doesn't seem like it will be a good decade to cover in a VH1 fashion..

I saw a commercial for this today, and Rocca and Sparks are in it. I don't know about Michael Ian Black (the dude from Ed).

Sparks was pretty funny in the 80's installments. My favorite moment was when they were talking about Rick Astley, and Sparks was imitating him: "I'm a white guy, with a big ol' black voice!"

In EW a few months ago, the exec-producer of "I Love the 80's" said that he would do a second hour to the 80's series rather than make one on the 90's...

... but it looks like we get the 70's instead.

According to the commercial looks like Greg Proops will be one of the guest commentators... I hope he's a regular!

That wouldn't be funny for at least another 10 years. The I Love the 80s was funny because you could look back and laugh at everything that happened in that decade. Most of the things that happened in the 90s are still going around and haven't lost "style" yet

This VH1 70's show should have been done in the 90's.
That's when the teens of the 70's are in their 30's.
They are settled and have buying power for advertizers.
Like in the 1970's everything was 50's crap and in the 80's it was 60's stuff.
They need to be doing 80's stuff.

GOOD news!

Michael Ian Black IS going to be a part it.

Hopefully after the 70s, they'll revisit the 80s...

Amen to that. And to those asking for Michael Ian Black, didn't you guys see the teaser for 70s? I guess he was the most popular among the commentators on 80s cuz he was the one promoting it.

I can't wait to see 70s. I wanna hear their thoughts on Star Wars, Jaws, Superman(?) and lotta other stuff.

I hope so. One thing they missed in it was the Karate Kid...I would've loved to hear comments on that.

I sat down to watch my TiVo-ized episodes this morning. Pretty funky. I turned 8 in 1970, so I remember a lot of what I watched. I still blame Yoko for the Beatles breaking-up, though John =was= getting pretty weird on his own around that time anyway. I'm waiting for the Big Red Machine, Mood Rings, and Digital Watches.

Yeah it does seem odd that they missed that. Especially after seeing Michael Ian Black on Via Variety saying:

Who's the Karate Kid.....I'm the Karate Kid!!
