Xbox Controller to USB adaptor-Where can I buy one?

My brother-in-law wants to use an XBox controller for gaming on his Mac and PC which use USB ports.

Anyone know of any B & M's, preferably, or online sites that carry this adaptor?

Thanks mucho.

Ian

funny guy.

Yeah, he's already got the drivers.

Photographers and Macs, they seem to like each other.

The places I've seen list it say that the drivers are included with the adapter. The eBay auctions seem to agree.

If I remember right, the places I found were more expensive than eBay since they were all overseas. I haven't pulled the trigger on one of hese yet, but am tempted.

It is possible re-wire the XBox controller to work with a USB port although the link to describe the process escapes me at the moment.

Thanks juiio. Yeah, he's tempted to buy off ebay as well, for $10, but wondered if there were any other options.

For Trigger, apparently, the adaptors sold on ebay have drivers for XP, 2000, ME and for Mac as well. My bro got the Mac drivers on another site tho.

If anyone has seen the adaptors at a store, please chime in.

Thanks

Thanks mtucker. He'll use one of my xbox controllers so re-wiring is not an option. Plus, he'll eventually buy an xbox himself.

Maybe someone else would appreciate that link tho. thanks.

Found the thread at Ars-Technica where I originally spotted it.

It references this thread at the G4 forums with instructions including a picture of the finished product.

Also of note, the operation just deals with the extra "extension" portion of the XBox controller cable with should make it easy to swap back and forth between the XBox and PC. Disclaimer: It seems that G4 thread is advocating something I don't approve of, buying something, removing an item, and returning the item for full credit. I wouldn't suggest that. Perhaps someone has an extra USB cable that they could use instead of acquiring one through "dubious" methods.

Since we're on the subject of adapters and such, does anyone happen to know if I can get a Gamecube to Xbox adapter? The reason is that I want to use my Soul Calibur Joystick that I got for my GC on my Xbox. Any help is appreciated. ^^

I made my own cable by soldering together an Xbox controller extension cable and a usb cable. You can buy a cable from:

http://www.codeunderground.com/

They also have the drivers available for download.
