Classical music reviews - help?
So after seeing 28 Days Later I want to get a good recording of Fauré's Requiem. But the problem with classical music is, as always, there are literally sometimes DOZENS of CDs to choose from--all sounding very different because of the different conductors/performers and recordings.
Can you recommend any good books/websites that have reliable word on which are best?

Yeah. I can recommend a couple.
One is Gramophone's Classical Good CD Guide.
The other is The Penguin Guide to Compact Discs.
Go here (for some reason, pasting the URL isn't working):
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/se...694098-5673664
http://www.classical.net/ (THis link is working)
http://www.gramophone.co.uk/index.asp (This one works too.
Amazon link doesn't work.
The Penguin Guide is the biggest daddy on the block
Also find a store that sells "Gramophone", the monthly classical music magazine. Good luck.
