req info star wars
Hello:
I recently saw a members, collection which had star wars jedi/empire, I believe on R2 dvd, widescreen, anamorphic and extras.
Anyone know where to get these, they were legit since I believe It was a special edition.
Any help would be appreciated
thanks,
abydos

There are NO legit dvd's for any of the Star Wars Trilogy or Indiana Jones as yet.
Anything you see right now is definately a bootleg, most probably from a laserdisc source.

Here for a year... and he still doesn't know...
Yes, they are legit, since any DVD with a Special Edition banner printed on the cover cannot possibly be a bootleg.

If they could actually make ones that capture the 5.1 sound, I'd be happier. NONE of the other releases have the actual 5.1 sound from the laserdiscs.

there are no anamorphic bootlegs. However, the 5 star newest editions are DVD9 or dual layered.

I have those and the non-SE trilogy. But I wish the non-SE would be on DVD9. The non-SE ESB I got is also desynched towards the end
Oh well at least on my DVD Han will forever shoot first!

Actually...you're wrong.
The 5 star ones DO have DTS and ARE ported from the laserdiscs. But they are not anamorphic.
This is all widely known. Why would they use VHS as a master for a bootleg. They're not that stupid...they know how to make DVD9's remember.
I have the laserdiscs...and they also have the same extras.

The LDs are no anamorphic either, right?
One bad thing about these DVDs is that they'll cause problems on widescreen TVs cause the Alien subs are on the "black bar" area.
Now I just wish someone would make non-SE trilogy DVDs that are as good as the SE ones.
