Has "Halloween" been cancelled?

No, not the holiday --- but the August 5th Anniversary Release of "Halloween: H25," the one and only original slasher movie.

The reason I ask is because the title has been listed as an 8/5 release on ComingSoon.net (which I find to have the most comprehensive and user-friendly release schedule on DVDs). All of a sudden, the title has been pulled from that release date with no explanation given. I looked at other sites for release info, and was only able to find the title's August 5th release still active in, I think, DVDPlanet.

Anyone?

Well, Anchor Bay still has it marked with an August 5th release. Here is a link to their site. Just do a search for Halloween & it will be on the second page.

It's still up for pre-order on Amazon, DDD and DVDEmpire.

You still have to buy the TV version to get both cuts in the 25th anniversary edition (from what I can discern from the Anchor Bay website). I've seen the TV version in a few stores around here for sale.

Man, that's gonna suck. I just want the ultimate edition with everything on it. I've held out this long. Maybe it'll be a hidden easter egg, like the T2 Theatrical cut on the Extreme Edition DVD. That would be better than trying to find a copy of the TV cut in stores. Although, I could probably find it if I looked hard enough. It just sucks though, cuz choosing between the two cuts meant choosing between having extra features or having the TV version. I kinda wanted both. Which, if I remember correctly, was what that 2-disc set was that went OOP before I even got a DVD player. Then again, it probably sold for more than I would be willing to pay.

I've still got the first LE, but I'm going to add this to it. I'm glad Criterion is letting them use the commentary track.

Yes, apparently the extended TV version isn't going to be included in the new dvd. The added scenes will be available on the second disc, but they won't be cut into the movie. Here is an excerpt from the HTF chat with Anchor Bay:
(ThomasC) With the upcoming Halloween re-release will it have both the orginal version and the TV version? Also any idea when thoes Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing sets will be released? Any other Hammer movies are you going to be releasing? Thanks

(Michael_Felsher)The Halloween re-release will have the theatrical version and the TV scenes will be presented separately on the second disc. The Cushing and Lee sets will be early next year. More Hammer is planned, but nothing firm at this point.
I'm glad I didn't get rid of my extended version dvd.

Here. It used to be on the second page of results when you searched for "Halloween", but it's been bumped up to the first page, a couple down.
