DVDs Have Helped My Career

We were looking for ways to increase our plush crane revenue in our accounts and were coming up empty handed. I am the company accountant and suggested putting DVD's attached to a piece of plush. The manager gave me free reigns on putting this together so I went to Sam's and bought The Matrix, Terminator 2, Charlie's Angels Superbit, Harry Potter, X-Men 1.5, and The Fast and the Furious, Tricked Out Edition. I picked these because we have cranes in the movie theatres and I wanted to cash in on the sequels in the theatres and Harry Potter due to the book coming out. Anyway the cranes are kicking ass. I told my wife that my obsession with movies would come in handy one day. I have already been asked to prepare the next round of cranes, getting paid to shop for DVDs kicks ass.

Are you talking about the game with the metal claw that goes down and noramlly grabs toys and stuff like that? If you are, i'm suprised the claw can fit around the DVD.

In all sincerity, funstan, you might be the greatest "plush crane" innovator who ever lived. That's a great idea.

Yeah, we attach it to a stuffed animal and the claw can pick it up.

Funstan, are you sure you want to have a kid getting The Matrix or Terminator 2 and get a complaint from his mom about where he got an R-rated movie?

Really? What theatres and where? I'm really REALLY good at crane games (my kids have bedrooms FILLED with stuffed animals to show for it).

And maybe could you start loading the machines with Criterion releases and some good Hong Kong Kung Fu movies? My collection's lacking a bit.

Isn't that unfair putting in the T2 dvd with with heavy metal case. Also, that case may damage the claw on the crane or cut open the stuffed animal. Can be a very traumatic experience for a little kid seeing a stuffed animals guts, not to mention them getting an R rated movie.

Don't take this post too seriously. I think its a great idea to put dvds in the crane.

That idea is awesome. Hurry up and patent the damn thing, come up with a nifty name for it, then open up your own theatre with all the millions you make from it!

Seriously, that's a cool idea. I wish my theatre did that. They don't even have a crane machine anymore. The reason being I don't think that anyone used it. They had the wrong size stuffed animals in the damn thing! The claw was not much bigger than the one in the candy crane machines and the stuffed animals were at least TWICE the size you see in crane machines. It was pathetic.

I've won tons of prizes on crane machines in the past and would definitely love to see DVD's sitting in a crane machine in my theatre! Especially new releases!

I've got to second Darkflounder though. I need the "400 Blows" Criterion disc.

Putting Criterions in a crane machine would be a good way to go bankrupt (considering the STEEP price needed to purchase one and the lack of general appeal for "artsy" films. Stick with mainstream drivel like Harry Potter and T2.)

Mom: "Where's your dad?"

Kid: "He's getting more change for the crane machine."

Mom: "Uh... why?."

Kid: "There's a plush Orc attached to the Lord of the Rings Ultimate Gift Box. I think Dad's up to $60 by now...."

I hope none of these machines come to my neighborhood. The thought of playing a crane game for DVDs would easily cost me a weeks pay.

I never win but it is so hard to stop. Especially when you get the toy half way across and it falls. I ain't going out like that.

I guess I shouldn't tell you about the machine I saw with Salo in it...
