Got kinda screwed with Zulu!

Ok, I got the R2 UK version of Zulu cause I thought it to be the BEST possible version, widescreen anamorphic and packed with extras. But now I find out that it’s actually NOT OAR (slightly cropped @ 2.30:1) and that there’s an MGM R1 that’s OAR @ 2.35:1 !!! BUT the MGM is bare bones (though it’s only $10 at best buy).

http://207.136.67.23/film/dvdcompare/zulu.htm

So now I’m stumped? Have both versions (one for the movie one for the extras)? Get rid of the R2 and get the barebones R1? Get rid of the R2 and wait for the R1 SE (if it ever comes out) and hope it’s OAR with all R2 extras? Or just keep the slightly cropped R2?

Dammit why do movie studios do such stupid things

I'm happy with my MGM r1... which I got for SIX bucks...

I'd keep the slightly cropped version, though the film's use of widescreen is excellent.

but damn it sucks to have two versions of the exact same movie :/

does anyone know if a SE R1 with all R2 extras and OAR is planned?

I thought that was why the MGM took so long to come out - they were trying to get the materials that were owned by Paramount.
