Dropkick Murphys - Blackout

Has anyone bought/heard this album? Is it any good? From what I've read, it seems to have got good reviews. I downloaded 3 free mp3s from the Epitaph site, and it sounds pretty good...

I got it and really like it... it's pretty much what you'd expect from a Dropkick album... and it comes with a dvd (with just a few live tracks) but it's pretty good... I'd pick it up if you can find a decent price and are a fan

Not as good as "Sing Loud...", but ok. I seemed to like the 2nd half of the disk better than the first half though.

A really good CD,they havent lost it !
Bassist Ken Casey sings more than ever on this record which is good.
forgive me for saying this but I dont think Al Barr can sing a lick.
Dropkick Murphys is one of the BEST live bands ever !
If you havent seen them live, you must go check them out.

This CD is OK. Kiss Me I'm *****faced is a great tune, the rest didn't impress me much. I like their old singer much better and their Do Or Die album has to be my favorite by them. Al Barr was more suited to be in the Bruisers.

I might still pick it up. I loved "Sing Loud" and this seems to be comparable to it.

I picked it up today and am halfway through it. Not bad so far. Of course, I'm a sucker for anything with bagpipes.

I can't wait til August - the local Celtic festival will have Flogging Molly and Seven Nations co-headlining for two nights. That's going to be a great show.

Yeah, it's the Dublin Irish Festival, August 1-3. Their website is here. The line up looks pretty good (Homeland and the Young Dubliners are also playing). Not sure if I want to go for just one day or more. I've been up here in Columbus going on three years now and never made it to the festival, so I'm really looking forward to it.

Did you see Flogging Molly when they were at the Newport earlier this year w/ the Bosstones and the Tossers? The show was excellent.

I finally got Blackout. I downloaded it off of e-music (a membership mp3 site -- legal mp3s for $10-15/mo unlimited downloads).

I really like it. I think it's about equal to Sing Loud, which I really liked too. Definately worth it.

I saw FM when they toured out here last. Unfortunately I saw them at the HOB anaheim which is a crappy venue. It was hard to see them and the opening acts weren't great.

As for the Tossers, I just d/l'd (also legally) their recent album Purgatory. It's pretty good - I have all their others too.
