Censorship is good!

I think we need more though. Why is everything a bland *? How about a few ampersands and affenschwanz? The comic lightning bolts and skull and crossbones are cool too.

But why stop there? Since <IMG ALT="" SRC="http://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/AHD4/GIF/obreve.gif" height="15" width="7" ALIGN="BOTTOM">b<IMG

Then we can change everyones screenname to either Washinton Irving or Irving Washington. WTF!

Censorship would be predicated on the concept of 'free speech'. Since DVD Talk is a MEMBERSHIP forum based on a set of rules (http://www.dvdtalk.com/legal.html) whose adherance is a condition of membership in the forum, there's nothing 'free' about the speech in here.

One of the guiding principles in our membership forum is to inhibit people from swearing at eachother. This isn't out of some puritan notion that swearing is bad. Anyone who knows me personally knows I am foul mouthed. It's done to try to keep the discussion threads on the forum CIVIL as swearing is most often used to attack or belittle other members and not to really express oneself.

And the nice thing... if you don't like you can ****ing go to another forum.

hmm, I was aiming more for a than a WTF, though I am glad that the WTF didn't come out as a ***. This thread made me think that more censorship would be more entertaining. At the very least, I think fanboy, rice burner, and top bunk should also be censored....
