EGM July issue scores

Game of the Month
Phantasy Star Online Xbox 9.0 9.0 9.0

Xbox
Return to Castle Wolfenstein 8.5 9.5 8.5
Moto GP 2 8.5 8.0 8.0
Robocop 2.5 2.5 3.0
Burnout 2 8.5 8.5 7.5
Bloody Roar Extreme (the x is for extremely sucky) 4.0 5.0 4.0

PS2
Arc the Lad 6.0 7.0 8.0
Unlimited Saga 2.0 4.0 4.0
Wakeboard Unleashed 9.0 8.0 7.5
Chaos Legend 8.5 6.5 8.5
Resident Evil Dead Aim 5.0 4.0 4.0
Evil Dead: Fistfull of Boomstick 2.0 3.0 3.0
X2: Wolverines Revenge 5.5 5.5 4.0

GameCube
Tube Slider (what a horrible name) 3.5 4.5 4.0
Ultimate Muscle (better than the WWE games from the review) 8.5 7.5 7.5
Wario World 7.5 7.0 6.0

GBA
Sonic Pinball Party 8.0 7.5 7.0
Donkey Kong Country 7.0 6.0 5.0
Advance Wars 2 8.0 8.0 8.5
DBZ: Legacy of Goku II 5.5 5.0 6.0

Wolfenstein and Phantasy Star were the big games for Xbox. Nothing really stood out for PS2. Wario World looks so so, but I'm really tempted to try out that Ultimate Muscle wrestling game. Advance Wars 2 looks to be the standout for the GBA.

The review was very positive. It got low scores because its too short and its too easy to continue right where you left off. It was also knocked by one reviewer for getting really hard as you get into the game. He mentioned cursing and throwing controllers.

I'd think Wario would love the fact his game would make you curse at the TV and throw your controller and GameCube out a window.

Ah that makes a bit of sense, Treasure games aren't really known for length (Gunstar Heroes, Radiant Silvergun, Ikaruga).. thier greatness lies in thier perfectly addictive gameplay that keeps you coming back for more and more and more.. here's hoping they deliver.

Nothing of interest again this month. I'm glad actually since I'm broke at the moment.

They said it was extremely similar to the original.

I don't believe the first one scored this well...hmm...

I hate EGM. I only have their free sub and that's all that motivates me. All they care about these days is graphics. The prettier the game, the better. Take their retarded ZOE2 review. They gave it a 9, 7.5 and 8.5, despite the fact that the game can be finished in 6 hours and there's no replay value. The most common "best feature" for their reviews has to do with the game's graphics. They're so willing to overlook the faults of a game if the graphics are good but if the graphics suck and it's a genuinly good game, then they totally trash it.

I personally think everyone has been extremely generous in their reviews of Wolfenstein.

Gotta pick up Burnout2 one of these days.

I have to disagree with you on Wolfie. I think RTCW has gotten scores that it deserved. Even with no online play I think the single action is very fun. The graphics are pretty darn good and the game plays silky smooth. I really can't find much to complain about with this game once I get past the hopping around that can be done so effectively in multiplayer (like Unreal Champ).

I wouldn't mind picking up MotoGP2. I've heard nothing but great things about this racing sim.

I think its a good game but the bar is set very high on FPS nowadays. If you are going to release a FPS you better bring the house.
